In 1999, Trefoil Corporation designed the software interface for O*NET, the United States Department of Labor replacement for the dictionary of occupational titles. This project involved integrating new O*NET occupational codes, titles and definitions with eight major classification systems of labor information. The company specializes in database integration, custom programming and the conversion of research concepts into commercial products. Trefoil also created Occupational Viewer, a commercial product integrating O*NET 98 and O*NET 3.0 data. Another product that Trefoil offers is PC-Pedal, a foot pedal that can generate keystrokes. Trefoil is also actively involved in projects, which convert paper assessment tools into computerized, commercial formats, such as career counseling questionnaires, assessment tools for determining language development in infants and toddlers and computerized support and report formatting for a multi-session, human-led project planning seminar. Trefoil is headquartered in Orono, Maine.
