Truly pitiful care and service at ER. You sit and wait even when there are no other patients around. When bill comes in and you try to contact the number they give you for assistance......good luck. No answer, no call back....nothing. Not sure how they stay open.

I wouldnt recommend this hospi...

I wouldnt recommend this hospital for someone with somethin as little as a broken pinky toe!!!!!!! This hospital is by far the WORST hospital i have EVER been to.

Ive had two visits to this hospital the FIRST time was when i was pregnant 31 weeks, was stayin the night with family and woke up with CONTRACTIONS, so bein that the lake regional was the closest, i went to there Labor and Delivery, They put the doppler on my belly and didnt pick up no contractions, and since there was no contractions pickin up, without checkin me to be sure... they sent me on my was. The next day i went back to my home in KC with the SAME feelings, the checked me and i was DILATED TO A 3!!!!

My Second Visit was just as terrible too Soo as i get back to my room the nurse came in I told the nurse my symptoms that I THOUGHT was a reaction to my meds, but wanted to know for sure because i was vomenting and feeling terrible... She then said "Well Why Did You Come Here? Just quit takin the meds!" Is this REALLY how you talk to your patient? THEN as soon as the nurse practitioner, not dr, came in SHE told her i got sick from my meds, after i told her i wasnt sure if thats what it was because im NOT A DR, The nurse practitioner then said "Oh yeah its your meds just drink clear floods and ill give you something for nausea" ... Thats it no vitals, no nothin? They didnt even look me over or NOTHING! Was gonna give me nausea meds and send me on my way! I was in there a total of 15 mins and 10 of that was waiting for them to come in, literally. Then before i decided to WALK OUT, the nurse said the reason i was seen by the nurse practitioner was because the DR wasnt available.... ARENT YOU A HOSPITAL??? SHOULDNT YOU ALWAYS HAVE A DR THERE??? So i said screw this hospital i can care for myself, sick, better than they can! As i was walkin out the nurse then said ... "Well, You know you have a right to ask for a dr." Ohhh but 2 seconds ago there was no dr available? ... If i could give this crappy hospital a -20 I WOULD!!! ... I know my case wasnt as severe as most cases... But that doesnt mean treat me like im NOTHING! This hospital SUCKS & if I was ya'll I would spend the extra gas $ and go to a different hospital like Jeff City or somethin because Lake Reginal, they dont care about makin sure their patients are ok, they are just worried about the money. Maybe they should have chose a different career path if they were just worried about money, these are peoples LIVES you are workin with!!!!

Whatever you do, do NOT have s...

Whatever you do, do NOT have surgery at this hospital. I can't say what the surgery itself is like but the surgery floor is, without a doubt, the most dangerous place I've ever seen. No one washes their hands, they constantly contaminate the wound as well as the dressings and would medication. The staff is poorly trained and just plain lazy. The hosp hires only newly trained RNs who have no prior experience. When I asked if I could get out of bed or get physical therapy, I was told they didn't have time. The surgery floor has a terrible reputation all over town. With the MRSA infections being so common now, just don't go there.

I would strongly not recommend...

I would strongly not recommend this facility. I myself have been an ER patient there Twice. The first time I actually passed out in there ICU while visitng. I was instantly whisked away by the staff and slapped with a 100 dollar co pay AFTER I told them I was fine, and I just didnt like the sight of blood, not only that I also got slapped with a 1000 dollar ER visit bill because my Insurance provider did not cover that hospital.

The second time I had fallen and was in obvious need of a cast. I didnt get the cast or the x-ray I was told to go home and see my doctor back in Kansas City when I got home earlier the next week No big deal.

Recently my mother and my brother have attended the ER unit there for similar problems. My brother was sent home after being in the ER for 6 hours with Nexum, and told if the problem persists come BACK to the ER and we will do an EGD. My mother with the same problem sat for 6 hours before she was seen before a doctor.

I personally think that if something happens while I am at the Lake and I have to visit the ER. I will get in my car and drive 4 1/2 hours to go to a hospital close to my home, rather than go to Lake Regional, just to be told come back later if the problem persists. :(

I was very impressed with the care I received with my emergency visit. My eyes were swollen shut and I was having a bad allergic reaction. The staff saw me pull up and had a wheelchair at the door. I was swept away to the back and got immediate care; iv and breathing treatment. At the hospital in my hometown, they won't do anything without making sure you have insurance first, then I sat for 2 hours with a bag of ice on my eyes and a shot . But the treatment I received here was so professional that I was in and out in 1 hour. My eyes were starting to open up that quickly. I was scared since I couldn't see and being so far away from home, but every one of them made me feel safe and comfortable. They help me to the restroom even though I was all hooked up to iv and blood pressure monitor, they gave me warm blankets because I was so chilled. Extremely great staff, God Bless them! I just wish I could remember their names!
