In addition, a new technique to alleviate sinus pain and pressure due to chronic sinusitis or recurring sinus infections is now available. The procedure, called Balloon Sinuplasty™ (BSP) can take as little as an hour.

BSP utilizes a small catheter, passed through the nostril over a guide wire, allowing a small non-compliant balloon to open, expand and permanently restructure the sinus drainage passageways, effectively unblocking them and restoring their normal drainage and function. The procedure is beneficial for patients who have not responded to current medications or who are seeking other options for relief of sinus pain.
