Great shop

I bought a back pack from them. All of the sales staff were friendly and helpful. I even bought a pack that didn't fit me very well, twice, in spite of a helpful store employee's advice. Both times they allowed me to return and replace it. The third time was a charm and I got a pack that fit properly. I was well within their sixty day return window mind you. I plan on purchasing more gear from them in the future, as I was very impressed with the over all quality of service. Thank you kindly Backwoods.

Thank you Backwoods staff. In todays times and economy its great to find a place where I can feel like I am getting a great deal on equiptment and good service as well. Backwoods staff has always been there to fullfill my outdoor needs and share personal experience to help make my adventures more fun. Knowing that they have used the clothes, tried the gear and can share experiences makes this place a great place to shop or even hang out a bit. I enjoyed the staff board at your other location. PLEASE BRING IT BACK! I love your new space and look forward to your spring lines.

Excellent Store

This store is absolutely incredible! I have lived in Kansas for almost 20 years now, and I cannot even explain how happy it makes me to be home to one of the greatest outdoors stores. It is such a relief to have a store that carries such a great quantity and great quality outdoors gear. The sales people helped me out so much choosing a tent, sleeping bag, and new hiking boots. They were very friendly and very informative. I encourage you to just drop by on your lunch hour and check them out. You will be highly entertained checking out their camping equipment and even just watching climbing videos on their 40" high def tv. It is also a nice place to hang out with a cup of jo and enjoy one of their many magazines.

Best Shopping Expereince

This was the best shopping expereince I have ever had! The staff is super friendly and they know their stuff! I would highly recommend stopping in for any of your travel/camping/adventure needs! Huge selection and awesome gear! Love having these guys in town.

I am new to climbing and went into backwoods to talk to the staff about what gear I would need and what shoes i should buy. Being a college student with limited income, i was looking for value and quality. Scottie and Corbin really helped me make an educated decision about what shoe to go with and what harness I should choose. They both were knowledgeable about climbing and even recommended a couple places to climb in the area. Thanks guys hope to see you at the gym soon.

I went into Backwoods in preparation for a colorado ski trip I was taking with my family. The employees were very kind to me and helped me pick out some gear that would keep me warm but not make me look like a snowman. They even looked at my old ski wear and evaluated it quality. I bought some wool base layers that worked out wonderfully and used my current rain jacket as my shell. They did not try to sell me stuff I did not need just to make a sale. I definitely recommend this store to all my friends and will spot here for all my outdoor needs.

Poor Service.

This store is small and unorganized plan on waiting for help.

I was not able to get into a dressing room to try on a shirt.

I bought it anyway because it was 50% off but still over priced.

When it was taken back because it didn't fit they tell me no return on a sale item.

I asked why I was not told this at the time of purchase.

I was then offered a store credit. (NO THANKS) I gave the shirt to charity.

Even WalMart is more tolerant of returns than this over priced yuppie shop.

We are very sorry to have a new customer feel we have not fulfilled our side with giving them a product fitting their technical needs and giving them the service they deserve. We appreciate the review and are very sorry but the points are very valid. We are in the process due to this of reviewing our in store policy on sale merchandise returned. This fall we will be moving to a new location on 135th and Metcalf giving us a much better flow through the floor as well as through the dressing rooms to allow during our very busy initial sales days to give all our customers an opportunity to try before buying. We are going to work directly with this customer to resolve this. We thank anyone for their feed back!
