Comanche Elementary School serves more than 500 students in kindergarten through grade six. The school s educational programs include instruction in science, mathematics and reading. It also offers music, physical education, and fine and language arts classes. Comanche Elementary School features a library that provides research and reading materials. The school operates a coir, band, orchestra, student council and mathematics club. It organizes extracurricular activities that include book fairs, skating parties, spring carnivals, Olympiads and spelling bee competitions. In addition, Comanche Elementary School offers the Drug Abuse Resistance Education and Accelerated Reader programs. The school administers a parent-teacher association and is a part of Shawnee Mission School District.
