Tanya R Sellers-Hannibal, DPM is a board-certified podiatric surgeon with the American Board of Lower Extremity. Dr. Sellers-Hannibal has maintained a solo private practice for over 25 years with expertise treating general podiatric concerns such as nail fungus, Athlete's foot, foot injuries, and ingrown nails as well as conditions like plantar fasciitis, heel pain, hammered digits, bunions, diabetic foot ulcers, wounds, Achilles tendinitis/ruptures, broken bones, flat feet, and ankle sprains. Dr. Sellers-Hannibal attended Howard University in Washington, DC majoring in zoology with a minor in chemistry. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. Following graduation from Howard University, she attended medical school at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City and graduated with a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine. Her residency training was done at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Washington, DC, with additional surgical training at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the Fairfax Surgical Center in Northern Virginia. Dr. Sellers-Hannibal also served as chief resident during her residency. She is affiliated with Northwest Hospital/Lifebridge Health and the University of Maryland Medical System Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute (formerly JL Kernan Hospital). Dr. Sellers-Hannibal is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association (MPMA), and a Diplomate of the American Board of Lower Extremity Surgery (ABLES). Dr. Sellers-Hannibal has been invited to lecture within the community and has willingly participated in school career days, health fairs, and health screenings. She has enjoyed mentoring podiatric medical residents and podiatrists who are new to the profession. Dr. Sellers-Hannibal was also appointed by former Maryland governor Robert Ehrlich to sit on the Maryland State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners and subsequently reappointed by former Maryland governor Martin O'Malley for a second term.
