If you are not familiar with Oxford, the city is located approximately half way between Atlanta, Georgia and Birmingham, Alabama directly on I-20. Oxford, previously called Lick Skillet, is a growing city that retains a small town atmosphere and pace of life FBC is a church that is not heavily skewed to any particular age group. While some congregations have a predominant number of young, middle, or senior adults... this congregation is fairly balanced between all ages which provides opportunities for people to fit in regardless of age or station in life. Another benefit is that there is regular and deep interaction between the ages which is one of the strengths of FBC First Baptist is one of the oldest churches in Oxford being founded in 1836. During our 165 year history many transitions have taken place. Most recently the building of a worship center seating 1, 200 along with educational space for children, and youth.
