So I went to this dentist yesterday. I need my wisdom teeth taken out because they have been hurting. So they take 7 x-rays, but they didn't get a good x-ray of my wisdom teeth. Dr. tells me that since they were not able to get a good picture of my wisdom teeth that they would have to do a panoramic x-ray but my insurance only covers 7 x-rays and that I would have to pay $85 out of my own pocket to get the panoramic x-ray they need. Why should I pay for their stupidity of not knowing how to get a good x-ray? On top of that, Dr tells me he is not able to do the extraction yesterday that i had to schedule another app (of course to get more money out of my insurance) and that he wouldn't do it if i didn't get the x-ray he wanted. So I went to this dentist after I left this office. Helen Lee DDS in Ventura. She only charged me $15 for the x-ray and only had to take one to get a good picture of my wisdom teeth. They don't charge office visit and if I do not want to use my insurance for the extraction, it's only $95. So the point of my story is, Dr. Carlos Tamayo and his staff are total rip offs. They are only there to take peoples money and to charge the insurance for what ever they can.
