Mar Vista Elementary is a school that offers learning programs to more than 600 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school manages the Mar Vista Library, which provides access to over 8,000 reading books, encyclopedias, dictionaries and resource materials, as well as administers an accelerated reader program. It also has a computer laboratory that offers Internet access. Mar Vista Elementary governs special education and English Language Learners programs. In addition, the school provides instruction in language arts, mathematics and science. It offers an after-school program through the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme. Mar Vista Elementary operates a parent-teacher club and offers extracurricular activities, such as basketball and band. It is one of the educational facilities managed by the Ocean View School District.
