Horrible at best

After taking this cab and paying the fare. I have to say this was my worst experience in a cab. First, the cab was late, then the cab was dxtremely dirty and reeked of smoke. Thirdky, the driver had no knowledge of direction even though he had a gps device.



I traveled with my brother and we were besides ourselves as to getting out and getting another cab.



I calked the base to complsin and got no satisfaction or resolutuion.



In short, avoid taking this cab service at all cost. This site forces us to give at least one star. I wish i could give it a triple zero as thsts what it deserves. You've been warned.

We ordered a taxi from Blue Lane taxi service at around 8 pm on Friday October 31, 2014 to go from Ozone Park, Queens NY to Manhattan (34 St and 3rd Ave). The receptionist said it would cost $38 plus any tolls. OK fine. No problem. However, during our route to Manhattan the taxi driver was very unprofessional, unethical and borderline robbery was taken place. During our route we asked the driver what the cost was going to be and he said $40 dollars. That was the first time he robbed us because the receptionist said $38. The second time was when he wanted to keep the my change for the toll (mid-town tunnel) . At one point he said you can't get your change back. We basically had to tell him over and over again for our change back, which he finally did. The third time the taxi driver tried to rob me was when we arrived at our destination. I gave him $50 to pay for the taxi service. When I asked for my change back he would not give it to me. He wanted to keep it all. I sat inside the car which felt like a couple minutes just arguing with him to get my change back!!!! He told me all kinds to excuses to keep the whole $50. I one point I was so fed up I was going to call the police for robbery!!! Later he decided to give me back my change which was only $5. He kept the other $5 for his tip. I live in the Ozone Park, Queens NY area for 30 years and have used Blue Lane taxi service for a very long time. I can't believe I was treated this way. I will not be using or recommending their service anymore. How can this person be employed for these unprofessional, unethical and manipulable business practices!!!

Terrible

Would give zero stars if I could. Long-time customers here. They tried to charge me $48 for a $25 ride because "something was happening in Manhattan." How is that my problem? Settled on $40. Normally after toll and tip I would pay $40. Don't count on a tip this time. Car reeks of stale cigarettes and cheap air freshener and is otherwise filthy. Funny that the previous reviewer got yelled at to speak in English because this driver can't seem to pronunciate a single word. We live 2 blocks away from the dispatch center and will not be using them again.

After knowing and dealing with...

After knowing and dealing with Blue Lane for over 30+ years, it's sad to say they have gone far down hill. Between cars ordered more than 2 hrs in advance, and not showing up. To the rude treatment of callers ( the dispatcher told my Wife to put someone on the phone who speaks ENGLISH ) my Wife is a lecturer at several Univ's., and I'm sure her 1000+ students understand her.1/2 of my childhood friends got their first jobs at Blue Lane... so I was always loyal to them. Kew Gardens, Howard, and Blue Lane are now under one owner. We will be looking for a new cab company starting tomorrow.
