This business is great! I had such a good experience, I wanted to share.I decided one week that I wanted new flooring, and I wanted it ASAP! I started researching on line, and looking at some of the "popular" highly advertised places (the ones you hear so much about that you have their phone number memorized, even though you have never done business with them). I was not impressed by the "bum's rush" I got to set something up NOW! and the demand for my phone number at any on-line site. I visited hardware stores for small samples, then I started calling around locally. I called 3 places. One of them put me on hold for over 5 minutes, so I hung up. One of them was carrying on a personal conversation with someone else while on the phone with me, and told me it would be at least 2-3 weeks before they could arrange installation. Then I found Safeway Carpets. The phone was answered promptly & politely, and my questions were answered, so I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. I had an idea what I wanted, and a budget to work with (which I did not share), but I am a "flooring dummy". terms like loops & friezes and the different textures and materials boggle me a bit. Slavica looked at the samples I brought, listened to what I wanted, and got busy pulling samples for us to look at and compare. She gave us the "good-points" and "bad points" of all the different kinds of carpet & laminates - we got a combination - without getting all technical on me (though I am confident if I wanted technical talk, she could deliver it). Her husband came out the following day (yes, on a Sunday) and measured everything, and Slavica arranged to have everything installed within a few days. 2 very nice & professional young men showed up on Friday at exactly the scheduled time, and installed my new carpet in just about 2.5 hours. They did a wonderful job, and even took away my old carpet/padding, though I had not arranged for that. On Saturday, one guy showed up to do the laminate flooring. I was hoping to get it done in one day, but it took 2 days. I was told ahead of time that it might take 2 days, so that is not a complaint (he was just one guy, and he worked very hard both days, and finished up on Sunday afternoon. Everyone was clean and respectful of my home, and friendly, and cleaned up after themselves.I got everything I wanted, in a timely fashion, and quite a bit under budget. Slavica followed up to make sure I was happy, and forwarded me the warranty information as soon as she could get it from the manufacturer. I am VERY pleased with my whole experience with Safeway Carpets, will recommend them to others, and will definitely call them when I am ready to do my upstairs.
