Provided by YP.comI took my 8 yr. Old Chihuahua in for a physical with the intention of getting a refill on his medication for seizures. Dr Gay was his doctor I was told that she believe he had a problem with his thyroids and want to do a full blood panel to check I agreed to it but turned it down when i got the bill $450.00 I told her I couldn't afford that so she insisted she do a xray to look at his organs due to me explain to her he had been previously dinosed his fluid in his lungs she listed to his lungs and said she didn't hear any fluid but did the xray to check his organs. GAY later came back and told me that he has a enlarge heart and liver and heart worms and a collapse trakea I immediately started to questioned her and told her I never been out of California for him to get heart worms she then stated" well have he", i said no. She said well he don't have heart worms then but i still want to do the test to check because his heart i failing and Wales off . I was so overwhelmed with all the information that i told the repseptionist to tell Dr.Gay to put the test on hold so she can explain to me in more detail what was go on with my dog. I asked Tammy (RVT)to explain and she said she didn't want to get involved because she didn't want to give me the wrong information. Dr. Hey came back out and I told her I wanted an explanation and she then stated that his heart is weak and she needed to do surgery on his trakea what doctor would do Sergey on a do what a "weak heart"? Major red flag then she stated that he has fluid in his lungs i told her I thought you said you didn't hear any fluid in his lungs she then stated " I didn't but you said it so then he does and I want to send him home with antibiotics ". I told her she is a joke and give me my dog. I later took my dog elsewhere and his blood work came back fine no thyroids problems no enlarge liver or heart or weak heart ,fluid in lungs and no collapse trakea. Pet owners Don't Take your furry family member this Hole .

Provided by YP.comI have ten dogs, and i take my veteranarian care very seriously. My animals are very important to me. I have gone to 3 other Animal Hospitals in the area and will never go back now that my dogs have been spoiled here. I love the Hospital and what they do here. Its a very friendly environment and me and my dogs look foward to each visit. All the staff are very knowledgable. I will admit it can get busy here at times, but then again it is after all an Emergency Hospital, not just a clinic. One thing i really like about this place is that im always notified of their monthly specials which i can obviously use since i have like 10 dogs. Its good to know their are people who are always there for me and my animals.

Provided by YP.comWatch out for what you're getting yourself into. I usd to take all my cats here and found the place very informative and helpful when I'd give them the 20 question barrage every time I'd come in. They had all my pets' names on separate charts and treated them as individuals. But one day I brought in a cat, which I already knew had kidney failure and would eventually die, to find out if she had a blockage in her throat, making her drool big time. At the same time she had stopped eating and drinking. I had already been giving her subcutaneous fluids for the past 2 years, keeping her alive and symptom free until now. I wanted to make her dying experience as comfortable as I could, so if she had an obstruction, I wanted it removed. The staff made me sit outside with her while waiting for the doctor in case she might be contageous. It was hot and she began to droop her head and fall over. I told the staff, and they took her from me immediately into a back room to perform life-saving procedures. I was upset by then because they were not doing what I had brought her in for. After about 1/2 hour they came out and said that they had taken blood and urine samples, after which she took a turn for the worst. They invited me to come in and say good-bye to her. I went in and held her wrapped up in the towel they had put around her. She lay limp and barely breathing. Within minutes she died. I was devastated, especially after they charged me almost $200 for killing my cat. I asked if they had ever looked in her mouth as I had originally asked them to. They said no but the blood and urine tests had revealed that she had kidney failure. I have not brought them any more of my animals because now I view them as pet killers. They "over-killed" on their costly treatment, which I would have refused if they had just asked me first.
We are very sorry that you lost your pet. I'm sure you were devastated by your loss. I can assure you that High Desert Animal Care Hospital cares for you pet and we did all we could to save your cat. We continue to be here for you and assure you that our intentions were never but the best for you and your cat.
