Hillview Middle School is one of the schools governed by the Westside Union School District. The school was founded in 1993 and serves more than 900 students in grades seven and eight from the surrounding communities of West Palmdale and West Lancaster, Calif. The school offers a strong core curriculum in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and physical education. It also provides opportunities for its students to participate in band, arts, sports and other recreational activities. The school buildings consist of nearly 20 classrooms; science, technology and computer laboratories; a library; home economics, art and woodshop rooms; and a cafeteria. Hillview Middle School also offers a variety of events, programs and activities throughout the school year for parents to become actively involved in their child s school and education. The parents activities include back-to-school-night, parent-teacher conferences, school site council, principal s coffee, awards assemblies and competitive sports events.
