John has owned Marion's Studios of Richmond since 1982. Marion's Studios is known for it's beautiful portraits and distinctive timeless quality. The skills required to do beach portraits and location work is more than what you might think. There is so much to consider with lighting and lens selection. There is equally as much skill and training involved with this type of photography as there is with studio lighting. You may know someone with a camera. We have heard countless stories about friends who took the pictures but in the end they were out of focus or washed out with too much light or even too dark with not enough light.
