I've used four different aquarium services in the past few years and never felt I could trust the people coming into my house. I hired Something Fishy several months ago and have had nothing but great experiences. They are professional, knowledgable and trustworthy! If you are looking for a company you can trust, Something Fishy is the only option!

We had a large saltwater tank donated to our Center. It came with service from Something Fishy. The guys are great. They have helped us add fish that will get along with each other. We are looking forward to our star fish in a few weeks. Goedert Center

Something Fishy has been maintaining two fish tanks at the Blue Island Public Library for years and has been a superlative company to work with. They come in frequently to clean our tanks and are genuinely caring about the fish. When we do have an unfortunate, rare, demise, they are quick to send in replacement fish so the tank is always busy and lively. This has been a win for us since library staff does not have the chore of cleaning the tank and patrons love our colorful, fishy staff members .

Something Fishy has been servicing our fish tank for years. We have been provided with reliable, friendly, knowledgeable, and excellent service. The children and families very much enjoy observing our beautiful tank filled with the happiest and most colorful fish in Palos Heights- yellow and blue tangs, clown fish, chocolate chip starfish, sea urchins, and more. Romney and his staff always patiently answer the many questions from our inquisitive Sandbox children. As the children always say..."Fish are friends not food."Amy Moustakas, Director Palos Heights Sandbox

Romney & Something Fishy has been servicing Sandbox Daycare Center for years. When the kids walk into school the first thing they do is go straight to our salt water tank that is the home to Nemo & Dore. Keep up the great work!!Amy Gurosh, Director

The Green Hills Public Library changed to Something Fishy about four years ago because we were unhappy with the service and fish selection provided by our aquarium specialist. It was the best decision we made; our aquarium is now filled with bright, colorful, happy fish! Not to mention happy staff and patrons. Having the fish tank in our Youth department has resulted in a meeting place before and after Story Times for both parents and children. Romney and his staff came to the Library and gave an excellent educational program to the children about the fish. Thanks Romney and Mike!

I have been a customer with Something Fishy for the past 4 years and have found Romney and his company to be an amazing resource to both start and build my saltwater aquarium. Romney is very friendly, approachable and does a great time teaching and educating as to the various species of fish and coral. He provides excellent recommendations as to what species work well together in the tank and has been very accurate in his recommendations. In addition he is prompt with his appointments and has always been true to his word. In fact he even goes out of his way and runs to the store to pick up any needed or requested supplies including food, equipment or new fish/coral (for no extra fee). I have no criticisms of Something Fishy and hope to continue a great relationship as we grow our saltwater aquarium for our family.

We have a 135 gallon freshwater acrylic aquarium that had suffered a number of pretty unsightly scratches, both inside and out. We wanted that cleaned up, and also wanted to give the tank a makeover, replacing the plastic rocks and plants with some real rock and some more realistic looking decor. We found out about Something Fishy, and Romney and Mike turned out to be the perfect solution! They worked with us to schedule this on a Saturday, which was very appreciated, because it was a pretty extensive project that my wife and I both wanted to be involved with. They started at 9:00am with a total takedown and disassembly of the tank. They were very careful with our fish, which they placed in a smaller tank they brought with for this purpose, and even saved a large amount of the original water from our tank to refill, so a recycle wouldn't be necessary. They then loaded the tank into their truck, and hauled it away to have the scratches removed. They brought it back just a few hours later, totally scratch-free! They then began to reassemble everything, and were more than happy to stand by for a time while I took over and assembled the new rock formation in the tank (stacking lava rock and Texas holy rock so it's both sturdy and decorative is tedious, even if you already had it planned out and stacked on the floor in advance). Romney and Mike then took over again, refilling the tank, replacing the fish, etc., and in the end we had an amazing brand new aquarium before dinner time! The renovation project was a complete success, and I would highly recommend Something Fishy. Romney and Mike are friendly, knowledgeable and very considerate of their customers. Thanks guys!!!Mike and Pam

The owner of Something Fishy is an alumni of Independence Junior High School in Palos Heights and has become a valuable educational resource for our school and our students. Not only has he guided our students into creating a salt water reef tank (dubbed The Patriot Reef), but he also coupled his aquarium maintenance with educational sessions about life in the aquarium for our students. In the past four years, he has presented to over 500 students and has matched his presentations to the Illinois State Standards for Science. He comes in once a month to present during lunch hours and students can choose to come to the presentations. We currently have dozens of students who enjoy the presentations and volunteer to come to participate. Additionally, he has set up contests where students were allowed to vote for what creatures were added to the aquarium and all of the daily feeding, cleaning, and maintenance is conducted by dedicated students. This has been a wonderful experience!
