I should have written this years ago and I apologize for not doing so. My cat Callie was diagnosed with cancer from Auburn University. They quoted 10K for treatment that they could not guarantee would help her. Without treatment, they predicted she had possibly one month to live. A friend suggested a holistic vet. Thats when I found Margaret Fowler.
I brought Callie to see her from our home in the Santa Rosa Beach area.
Margaret started her with Chinese herbs and suggested I feed her fish, especially salmon along with acupuncture. Well the fresh fish went over with Callie like a lead balloon. Looking like a skeleton, not wanting to eat, I tried everything. After my first week with the herbs and the acupuncture, Callie started eating. However, the only thing she ate was Fancy Feast...SALMON. She wouldn't eat anything else and had NEVER eaten salmon-ever.
Margaret whittled down her treatments from 3x/wk, to 2x/wk, to 1x/wk until Callie was in total remission. She loved getting to Margaret's house, would jump on Margaret's treatment table by herself and stay until Margaret was finished.
Bottom line, with Margaret's acupuncture regime (only a couple weeks of herbs), Callie became healthy, happy and lived well beyond her time. Ya, and she wasn't even nearly close to the 10K Auburn quoted me, not even close to it.
As far as the Fancy Feast salmon cat food, upon her clean bill of health, she suddenly stopped eating the salmon and ate the chicken, beef and other food, but not the salmon again. I have never seen anything like it.
If I could have flown Margaret to me after relocating, I sure would have.
Thank you and love ya Margaret Fowler for giving her back her life for her and us. ❤
Yes, below is a picture of Callie getting treated.

We were very fortunate to find Dr. Fowler when our 6 year old Australian Shepherd began losing control of her hind legs. After a thorough exam and background of Daisy's condition, Dr. Fowler started Daisy on acupuncture, Chinese herbs to relieve pain and inflammation and a home cooked diet. She referred us to UofFl to confirm Daisy's diagnosis of IVDD. Basically, arthritis in her vertebrae. We chose not to have surgery as there was little assurance the condition would be better or not return. Dr. Fowler was an important part of keeping Daisy pain-free and comfortable for the next year and a half. When the time came, Dr. Fowler came to our house to euthanize Daisy so she could be at home with us when she crossed over. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Fowler and her tech Jen. They treat their patients like their own animals, and are very gentle and loving in their care.

Dr Fowler has made me a true believer in Alternative medicine. My labrador (age 10 at the time) was diagnosed with nasal cancer 22 months ago and is still alive and well and cancer FREE. The combination of western medicine (radiation and chemo) combined with acupuncture for his immune system and anti-cancer herbs has saved his life. He is the only dog in the COUNTRY still in a Pfizer Palladia study for nasal cancer. All other dogs in the study have passed on or their cancer did not respond to treatment. The difference with Boz (now 12) is that he did acupuncture and herbs with Dr Fowler. Auburn Veterinary Clinic calls Boz their poster dog. Dr. Fowler's treatment has made a huge impact in our lives.

I began taking my German shepherd, Kirra, to Dr. Fowler in Dec 2012 when she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, hemangiosarcoma. Dr. Fowler was highly recommended by a friend who had taken her dog who has cancer as well. Dr. Fowler began with an assessment with all Kirra's current records, xrays, lab reports, etc from conventional vets. She began with creating a diet based around her cancer known as the "cancer diet". It was made of foods that would aid her condition and I that I could make easily at home. Next, she put my dog on certain Chinese herbs that were based around her cancer and what she was lacking (she had become anemic). Kirra was a fussy eater and could sniff out any medicine but Dr. Fowler always had a solution for this! She was always on hand for any questions (and trust me I had MANY). Along with the diet and herbs we did acupuncture and B12 shots on Kirra. Her office was warm and welcoming. The acupuncture treatments would take 30 minutes to an hour and as Kirra would lie there relaxed, Dr. Fowler and I would chat and she would calm me and reassure me with Kirra's treatment, condition and overall health.

Kirra was given weeks to months by Auburn Veterinary Hospital. I feel that with Dr. Fowler's diet, herbs, and acupuncture Kirra had a happy and lively 3 months. She was given a grime diagnosis by conventional vets and treated with chemotherapy. Dr Fowler helped treat Kirra's side effects from chemo with acupuncture and it worked, instantly. Kirra once walked in to her office and she had not eaten in 2 days. Dr Fowler tried giving her treats. No go. After hitting appetite stimulant points on Kirra with acupuncture, right after she ate up all the treats and her appetite came back.

Unfortunately with all the treatment with conventional and holistic medicine, the inevitable happened and Kirra began to hemorrhage. All I wanted was for my baby to be comfortable and home when the time came. Dr. Fowler drove an hour and a half to my house and ended my baby's suffering. She made it as peaceful as it could have been. I held her the whole time. Dr. Fowler then made all the arrangements for me and I had to do nothing which was so helpful at such a devastating time.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Fowler. I HIGHLY recommend her and her wonderful services. Since I had started seeing her for Kirra I have recommended her to all my friends and coworkers who have loved animals from cats to horses. She has the BEST bedside manner and truly wants the best for you and your beloved pet. She will be honest with you and that is sometimes hard to hear but it is in the best interest of your beloved pet.

Thank you Dr Fowler for making a devastating event peaceful, calm and comforting. She was able to end my baby's suffering so compassionately. Words can not express my gratitude and I am forever grateful. Kirra fell asleep peaceful in my arms at our home where she was most comfortable. I felt her last breath and was able to tell her how much I loved her the whole time. That is all I could ever wish for at that time and Dr. Fowler made that possible.

Dr. Fowler has been our family...

Dr. Fowler has been our family's veterinarian for over 9 years. In that time I have received nothing but genuine care and compassion for all our pets. She carefully evaluates their needs then takes the time to carefully explain answers to my questions, addressing my needs and concerns regarding the care of our pets. In addition, Dr. Fowler has euthanized three of our dogs at our home, making a very stressful and difficult decision less painful, for both my family and our dogs. Dr. Fowler truly is gifted as a veterinarian, offering an alternative course of action especially when western medicine has none. She has the ability and training to diagnose obscure problems other local vets might miss. If anyone is reading this review in search of a qualified, competent and compassionate veterinarian for any of their 4 legged family member, I highly encourage you to call her practice.

I took our 16 yr.old cat to se...

I took our 16 yr.old cat to see Dr. Fowler because of his behavior. He was vocalizing all the time, including the middle of the night and was acting confused. I assumed it was old age setting in and there was not much I would be able to do. Dr. Fowler did acupuncture and gave him some chinese herbal medicine. Wasn't expecting much, figuring it would take a few visits. Within 24 hours the vocalizing had pretty much stopped totally and "Scratch" seemed more relaxed and less anxious, confused. I was in total disbelief that he would respond so well. I can't say enough about Dr. Fowler and her knowledge and compassion. I have nothing but praise for her and will be recommending her to everyone.

Dr. Fowler is an excellent vet...

Dr. Fowler is an excellent vet. She saved my dog, Star, after he got a spinal shock competing in dock diving. He could not feel his rear feet, and was in a lot of pain. The injury also made him unable to continue competing in either agility or in flyball (relay races for dogs). I tried chiropractic and cold laser treatments for Star. They helped a little with the pain, but he still could not feel his rear feet. Dr. Fowler did acupuncture on him 3 times and he was back to normal. She helped him regenerate the injured nerves. I had two other vets tell me that Star would never recover from this injury, as injury to spinal nerves is usually not reversible. Star went back to competing in AKC agility and completed his Excellent level titles. He also resumed competing in flyball and got his NAFA flyball "championship", the ONYX. I totally credit Dr. Fowlers care for the fact that Star is feeling good and that he is fully recovered. My pomeranian recently injured a hamstring doing flyball - I'm going to take him to Dr. Fowler also.

Our older dog was in a terrible state with a strained back which prevented her even walking and Dr Fowler, with her great knowledge and compassion, came to our RV and healed our dog with a combination of acupuncture and other treatments. We can never thank her enough. Our dog is doing great now.

Help for our dog

Margaret Fowler was recommended by a friend of ours and she came to our house in Santa Rosa Beach to treat our 11 year old male Doberman. He had undergone facial nerve/muscle damage which was caused by a mild form of stroke. The symptoms were drooling on the right side of his mouth and sunken facial muscles on the right side of his face. Dr. Fowler’s demeanor was very caring for him and she performed acupuncture which significantly reduced his drooling. She also performed stimulating massage on his facial muscles and showed us how do this to improve his facial sensitivity and muscle awareness. His improvement was significant. She also met our other dogs and cats and was extremely gentle and friendly with all of our pets. We would gladly recommend Dr. Fowler to care for the pets of any of our friends.

Hope When There Wasn't Any

Phenomenal Vet and now we know why the Univ of FL Vet School professor of holiistic techniques rates Dr. Fowler his best student. There wasn't any hope for our 11 year old Boston Terrier after a horrific bout with Canine Vestibular Disorder. Dr. Fowlers innovative and commpassionate treatments brought him back to a high quality of life and enjoy for us as owners again. She is brillliant, wonderful to visit, and her treatments were exactly what was needed. He couldn't walk or even go outside to use the bathroom. Now that is over and he goes on 2-3 walks a day again. I recommend her services to any and everyone.

Wonderful Vet

I can't say enough to express my gratitude to Dr. Fowler. Her compassion and love for animals is so evident during the treatment of our animals. My cat suffered from feline asthma. Dr. Fowler went above and beyond, treating my cat after hours and on weekends, never knowing when he would have his next attack. I know her gentle and caring treatment of our cat extended his life and allowed our beloved "family member" to remain with us a few years longer. Our 3 other dogs and bird have received equally great treatment from Dr. Fowler. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone looking for the best veterinary care for their animals, to contact Dr. Fowler.

AN EXCEPTIONAL VETERINARIAN

Molly is our 13 year old Golden Retriever and an integral part of our family. Two years ago, she was in so much pain due to arthritis in her lower back and hips that we decided to try another approach to treatment for her. Our Vet recommended Dr Fowler, and after her first acupuncture treatment we saw marked improvement in her ability to walk. After about a week on the herbals, we were quite happy with the results, as Molly became more mobile and alert. She now visits Dr Fowler about once per month, and seems to improve with each visit. She occasionally has relapses, but her quality of life has been greatly enhanced through Dr Fowler. I am indebted to this highly skilled and professional veterinarian for getting Molly through a rough time and her continuing treatments of Molly to ensure her steady improvement. I highly recommend (and have done so) Dr Fowler to anyone experiencing problems with an animal they love. I have complete confidence and trust in her.

A kind and compassionate vet

My dog has severe skeletal issues that have resulted in serious arthritic pain, limiting her mobility and the quality of her life. After exhausting all means of conventional medicine, we opted to visit Dr. Fowler. The results have been nothing short of more than we could have hoped. My dog jumps, runs and plays again. But more important, her pain is being managed and she is living a happy, comfortable life thanks to the compassion and care of Dr. Fowler.

professional and caring

I met Dr Fowler about 5 years ago on one of my annual visits to the area. She was kind enough to allow me to observe her in a variety of settings, from acupuncture on horses to surgery in a clinic as well as the local zoo. She demonstrated a broad base of knowledge and was honest with the clients and caring in her treatment of the animals.

I consulted with Dr Fowler concering one of my own dogs back home. She prescribed Chinese herbs for the dog's skin condition. Following Dr Fowler's recommedations, the dog's skin condition and reaction to allergens improved remarkably. When I took the dog to a local holistic vet in my home area, she commented that Dr Fowler' was right on in determining what my dog needed. One of my other dogs has a seasonal allergy and Dr Fowler also prsecribed treatment for him. Again, her diagnosis and treatment helped him as well.

I would highly recommend Dr Fowler as a veterinarian who is very knowledgeable, compassionate, and someone who instills confidence in her treatment of animals.

compasinate healer

Dr. Fowler has treated my many dogs over the years. She always listens patently as I try to explain what's happening and she gently examines them to find the problem. When my Chesapeake Bay Retriever was experiencing severe hip pain, she performed acupuncture. After the treatment she got up and acted like a young pup. Even my skeptical brother who watched the procedure remarked, "Dogs don't lie; this really works." Dr. Fowler's experience in Traditional Chinese Vet Medicine is a real, effective alternative to drugs that only masks the problem. Dr. Fowler treats the problem and my dogs (and me) are much more happy for her. I trust her completely for the care and well-being of my dogs. I strongly recommend her if you're tired of just pushing pills and not getting any real results.
