Provided by YP.comThey advertise their ER to have the shortest wait time. This is not true. They say on line the time is define when you see a MD/DO/. What they meant to say is check in time and then they will put you in a hallway. Like a bunch of cattle. One more thing if you have insurance their doctor on staff is non-participating provider. What does that mean well you'll receive a bill from him that the insurance doe not cover. I did for $1231.00. That was more than my ER bill. I do not know what is going on at that hospital but they need a complete over haul on their chief of staff. I have BCBS Federal insurance. If their ER doctor does not accept insurance the patient should be told this before check in. Better yet their doctor should not be hired if he/she does not accept the same insurance they do. Thank you. Please think twice when you have to choose Bay or Gulf Coast for your ER needs.

Provided by YP.comWent to ER with my brother. The lady at the information desk helped him get registered. The processes flowed as smoothly as I have ever seen. He needed immediate care and after two weeks was able to go home. Thank you!

Provided by YP.comTotally ignored by the staff in the emergency room while seeking treatment for a 78 year old who was having difficulty breathing. After standing at glass for over 5 minutes I tapped on it to ask if I was in the right place. The male nurse was agitated and snapped at us, then told us to go sit down, he would get to us when he had time. Went to BMC and she was immediately admitted and treated with respect. Tried to complain online to GCCH but never received a response.

Provided by YP.comWent in to emergency room with 78 year old difficulty breathing. They sat behind glass windows and ignored us for at least 5 minutes. When I attempted to get their attention the male nurse became hostile and acted like I was bothering him. Left and went to BMC where she was immediately admitted and treated. A world of difference. Sent in an online complaint to GCCH but it was never responded to.

Provided by YPmobileI'm from out of town. I went into the er with a large abscess and a few smaller ones, chills, fever, and in extreme pain. They put me in a hallway on a stretcher asking me personal questions where several people were walking by. As I was being taken to a room, a nurse yelled in front of me "put her in a hallway, I only have a few beds left". Ummm, excuse me, but why am I not good enough for a room? So I sit out in the hallway until the nurse realizes how uncomfortable I am, and puts me in an open room with 5 other beds. But at least it wasn't the hallway. A Dr. finally comes in, only he is not a Dr. but a Dr assistant. He then looks at my abscess and says, ok, we are gonna cut them open, but sometimes the numbing stuff doesn't work. I asked him if was going to take any blood test or labs, and he said no, no reason to. Thank God I got up and left and went to a hospital 40 miles away. I was treated great at emerald coast, they immediately gave me pain meds, (of course GC did not or even offer) took blood, did everything they were supposed to. Good thing, because I was diagnosed with cellulitis that can kill you if not treated properly. I was giving iv antibiotics, and pain meds to make me comfortable. If I would have stayed at Gulf Coast I would probably be dead. Make the drive to the beach hospitals if possible. Your life is more important than saving gas.
