Donald E. Banks, MD, is a Board-certified family physician at AdventHealth Medical Group Primary Care at Paola in Paola, Kansas. Dr. Banks provides care for patients of all ages with a wide range of health needs, from chronic disease management to pediatric care to routine preventive or acute care. In addition to his work as a family physician, he has served in clinical and administrative leadership roles for medical organizations across Miami County, Kansas, including current appointments as the medical director of the Miami County Health Department and as the coroner for Kansas’ sixth district. A native of Paola, Dr. Banks joined his father’s primary care practice in the heart of town soon after completing his family medicine residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Prior to that, he attended the University of Kansas where he earned a medical degree from the School of Medicine after earning a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. In 2020, after nearly 30 years in private practice, Dr. Banks chose to align his practice with AdventHealth Medical Group, and his became the 10th primary care practice in the AdventHealth Shawnee Mission network.
