I've had a lot of sushi around the area, and Ikkyu is by far the best. Great service, amazing food and even better atmosphere.

This place is AMAZING! I try to go to it when I'm in Paradise. There isn't very good sushi where I'm from so it is always a perfect treat! It is a little bit pricey but for good sushi it isn't bad at all on price.

Not growing up in Paradise I have learned that most of the Restaurants suck up here and if you want quality food go to Chico, But I do have to say this place changed my mind completely. The food was great full of flavor and didn't taste like it had been sitting in the back for hours collecting dust nor did it taste like it was made from a powder. The waitress was nice, friendly, and very helpful in helping my mother figure out what she wanted to eat. The place was full of people so it was a bit noisy but that only tells you that it is good. Overall the place has earned a 5/5

I love sushi and I drive from Reno to visit my boyfriend in Paradise. I went there once before and it was good but after the service I received last night I will never go back. We were sat and 15 minutes later the waitress took our order of 4 rolls and told us it would be "a little while" because the chef was backed up... An hour and a half later our food had still not arrived and the waitress had not even checked on us once in all of that time. Once we flagged her down we told her we wanted to cancel our order, she proceeded to lecture us about how she told us it would take time. As we were walking out she was talking crap about us to the other waitress. I will not be returning...

For all those "not so happy about the wait" customers; Give them another try! They were a brand new restaurant on October 1st and have since adjusted their hired help. The food is wonderful, presented beautifully, and they deserve another chance!

FINALLY a Japanese restaurant ...

FINALLY a Japanese restaurant in Paradise worthy of the name. :) We were so tired of the sushi places that say they are "Japanese restaurants." Ikkyu has miso soup, teriyaki, donburi, tempura, and (of course) spring rolls/sushi. I had heard there might be a bit of a wait, so we went prepared to do that, but we have been twice now and have been very satisfied with both the service and the food. Enjoy!

Went on a Thursday night and there were many friendly servers. A couple next to us commented that they'd tried to eat there twice before but the wait was too long. I think their staffing is sufficient now but may have not been so when they first opened. Great food! Check it out -- we want them to stay open!

We love good food and we were ...

We love good food and we were looking forward to good Japanese food.

We went the first day they were open and waited to get in for 30 minutes, waited to get served for the first bowl of miso soup another 15, the waitresses were doing their best but we were given a second bowl and after an hour and half, still no food. Finally we left. As we left they said they had run out of rice.

Say What! Waitress offered to buy us are next meal, needles to say they were not there.

Today, we said let's give it another try. We had to wait again to be seated. Finally, we were seated (there were at least three tables empty when we got in there) and after 20 minutes, we were served the soup, 45 minutes later,we were served our dinner. Food was good but 1/2 cup of rice, three shrimp, small salad.

I wanted to go have a hamburger. The service was abismal. We were informed after being seated finally, that we were not her station but she would serve us any way. And then, we had to wait forever. She stated that they were backed up and I would have understood because of the big party in the back. BUT!! Why were the other people seated just before and after us getting their food. Yes, they started with soup and then sushi but they also had their dinner and were almost finished before we hardly even got our soup. We told our waitress of the horrible service we got the first time that we went and that did not seem to get us any where. I finally told her that she had 10 minutes to get our food out to us or we were leaving. She was not gone longer than 4 minutes before we got our food. Needless to say, no tip was given and we will not be going back. We see lots of cars there and wonder why they treat us like this. Chico is not that far away for our Japanese food. We will get way more to eat and in a more timely manner and for a cheaper price!!!
