Due to depression and anxiety disorders, I have seen more than a few psychiatrists over the last 30 years. Many were fine. Some were burnt out. Some were about to retire and distracted. Those that did not really listen were the worst. Over time, I became very distrustful of the profession. Unfortunately, if I discontinued treatment all together, the problems returned. I started seeing Dr. Wegner a few years ago. Speaking from experience, this is a top-notch Psychiatrist! When I'm with her, I know she is with me. She never over prescribes or changes what works. If a medication needs adjusting, she never does so without discussion. She shares her reasoning, provides a time frame, and does consider my concerns when lowering or discontinuing a drug. Expert physicians do not flock to rural Arkansas. Not to say there aren't some great doctors here, but not those with advanced skills and experiences. However, I know we do have one practicing psychiatry; Mary M. Wegner, MD. I am so very great full she is here.
