We called Weather Busters to give us an estimate on a 2 year old air conditioning that the tenant said is not working, The guy told us that the filter was installed badly and he wants $700 to replace it and he would do it right there and then. We said we will call him back. He got angry and said that we owe him $190 for his visit. We were not told about this before he went over. When the guy that did the initial install went to look at the air condition unit, saw that the fuse box is missing. I called the office and talked to Dennis Fano (the manager) who said that they went for diagnostic and not estimate and we owe them $190. She has no answer for why the fuse box is missing. It will cost me $300 for a refurbished fuse box plus installation to replace the damage, to then find out what was really wrong with the unit.

I bought a groupon to try out this company and get the tune and clean they promised. They didn't do either of these things. They came out, took photos to support their pitch to make me buy a complete new $2-3k unit. They did find some mold in areas where water condensation had been accumulating and this was his reason for replacing the entire air con unit. After he left, I cleaned this mold off myself in 15 mins (the job I thought I paid him for).



Moreover, he moved all my attic storage and didn't leave it as he found it. Dumped on one side of the attic and walked out. The heater was not even looked at, no flow testing, no draft testing, nothing... zip. They weren't in the house for more than 15 mins.



I basically paid 'the weather busters' for a salesman to come out and tell me to give them $3k more of my money. I think its pretty clear this is a marketing strategy designed to sell more new units and has nothing to do with what the groupon says its for. Avoid this company, I am looking for a trustworthy one for one that is not using a scam on their customers.
