True Quality! My husband had to go in to La Paz Parker AZ hospital for an out patent procedure. We were both nervous and apprehensive about it all. We were met at the hospital with the Utmost! Friendly efficient-outstanding-attentive-caring compassionate nurses and staff we had ever meet! They went above and beyond their duties so my Husband and myself would feel at ease. They were so gentle and caring with my husband they even got him smiling. As I waited for my husbands return from his procedure I noted-Every one that came in their doors be it patent or family member was treated with the same utmost importance. No one was treated as a stupid or a number or just a chart or a burden or below them . Every one was treated as equals with true respect and genuine care. There is more real genuine humanity there then I have ever seen in any hospital. There was a new staff member that had just started that day, she did not know were anything was and was nervous even she was treated with care and help to feel at ease.
Thank you for bing so wonderful to My Husband and me and all that enter your door.
Sincerely
Mrs Cross.

In May of 2013 my sister was taken to the La Paz hospital by ambulance to have an evaluation for confusion and possible dementia. In her confusion, she signed herself out of the hospital and was allowed to leave with no purse, cell phone, or water. She wore only hospital scrubs and a towel from the hospital. She was allowed to leave unattended, not prepared for the heat, though she had a longtime companion who could have been called to pick her up. He was called after she had left, and he searched all day for her in Parker, Arizona. She had vanished. After the required 24 hours, the police finally performed an aerial search and found her body on the desert. My sister did not need to die alone, from exposure in the desert. She had family who cared about her. We, the members of her family, believe the hospital should have taken better care of a poor woman who was confused and who had been put in their care.
