This church was friendly when I arrived, but soon after I entered the sanctuary one disappointing thing after another. It is a smaller church and I get that, but the worship was so quiet I could not here the leader anymore than the person singing next to me. It was as if they were not into the worship or just had the wrong job! Lack of communication. The pastor was old and the senior pastor older. This would have been fine had the sermon been more interesting and up to date; and considering the young crowd I was a little in shock. I didn't know how they attracted such a young crowd in the first place. One had told me that about half the congregation was in their thirties. Also a very important unanimous member sitting behind me in the back was doing other studies during the service and had me distracted. Not only this, but as soon as the sermon was over they were out the back door as if they were as bored as I was. That didn't say to much for the church itself. Being the day and age that it is I feel that many churches should turn it up a notch, and having tried many churches in search for one to call home this was definitely not the place for me. Before the sermon they had 15minutes of what should have been behind the scene talk. When they addressed the new combers they acted like the only reason to come to church was of you were having major problems with the sinful life they assumed your were leading. It was like a town meeting not the regular stand on stage and preach method. The pastor was at the same height as the congregation was. The sermon was just boring! I am a very patient and willing to weight kind of person but the message never got there. Maybe the pastor didn't prepare enough or wasn't led by God enough. It was like they were retired Christians! The time went so slow because it was lacking much!
