Provided by YP.comI brought in a rabbit for a check-up, which I was told was necessary before spaying. After maybe 7 minutes, I was told everything I knew- she was healthy and definitely female. Then, I was discouraged from spaying (I wonder why I was told a check-up was necessary before spaying if I was just going to be told not to?). The vet then said, in a very alpha-male condescending way, that behavior only changes 50% of the time and ovarian cancer is not that much of a concern. Firstly, there are enough rabbit breeders, behavioralists, and vets who would disagree. Secondly, it's uterine cancer that is an issue, not ovarian.
This quick, pointless appointment cost me $75 and unnecessary stress to my rabbit. I asked how much a spay would cost - $600. Another ripoff.
I went to the Animal Hospital in Denville where spays cost $200 and the workers are far nicer.

Provided by YP.comI have taken both of my ferrets to this clinic and have had a great experience. They had their first check ups there, which ended up going great. I live 5 minutes from the vet, and have researched others in the area that advertise that they treat ferrets and upon calling they said " We don't specialize in ferrets though we can check them out for you for 84.00 which was not assuring. The vet at the companion hospital is extremely knowledgeable and very good at explaining things. Also recently one of my ferrets had hurt her leg and I immediately took her in, they were able to x-ray her and help diagnose what was wrong all in about an hour and she was back home. They have a friendly staff and I did not feel uneasy leaving my animal there, as I have in prior veterinarians. Overall good experience.

Provided by YP.comWe saw Dr. Tsai for a second opinion on some blood tests that revealed a high liver enzyme. My usual vet wanted to do another fasting blood test immediately. Dr. Tsai offered a more holistic approach and was very calming and made some helpful suggestions that were very reassuring. She didn't jump to the conclusion of Cushing's Disease. I will have my dog re-tested after a few months of her suggestions and take it from there. I was thankful and relieved to have seen Dr. Tsai as my usual vet made me feel panic stricken and was very negative results rather than taking it slow to see if it is a fluke.

Provided by YP.comWe adopted our dog about three years ago from a rescue. Because he was abused he had become fear aggressive around new people meaning when he gets afraid he starts growling, barking and becomes difficult to work with. After out first vet told us our dog was a liability and suggested that we get rid him we decided to switch vets. Dr. Wolf at Companion Animal Hospital did not treat our dog for fear aggression, however he has been extremely patient with our dog, always willing to work with him. Our dog is much calmer around Dr. Wolf then he ever was around our previous vet. Three years later the fear aggression is significantly better. We now visit the vet without having to sedate the dog and without any barking or growling. Overall the staff at Companion Animal Hospital has been excellent and accommodating.
