I was very disappointed at the horrible client services I received from Dr. Kourtney Sims recently.



While in New Orleans, LA for a short vacation, I started a new birth control pill called Enskyce. I had originally been on a birth control pill called Emoquette, but my insurance company changed it without telling me why. Since all the active ingredients were the same as the Emoquette, I didn't question it.



The day after starting the Enskyce birth control, I got an itchy rash on my face. I was worried that this was an allergic reaction to the new birth control.



I called my normal gynecologist office (Dr. Sims) to see if I could get a month's prescription of a different birth control pill while in New Orleans. I didn't want to stop taking the pill being that I was vacationing with my fiance.



Upon calling Dr. Sims' office, I was told by a medical assistant that she might not fill the prescription and if she did fill it, there would be a $15 fee. Well, $15 for a two minute phone call to the pharmacy seemed a little pricey, but I needed the birth control. The medical assistant was very nice, she asked about the rash and said that she would get back to me.



When the medical assistant called me back, she said that Dr. Sims said she couldn't write the prescription because she is only licensed in Texas and could I go to a doctor's office in New Orleans? Could Dr. Sims' office be any less helpful and any less accommodating?



I called Walgreens and asked if the prescription could be sent to my normal pharmacy in Texas, then transferred to New Orleans, LA and they said, “Absolutely.”



I called Dr. Sims' office back and passed along the info I had received from Walgreens and that the prescription could be written. The medical assistant then told me that I would be charged $50 for the prescription, calling it a phone consultation. Well, what consultation is this? I asked for help and am not getting it. I told her that I wasn't going to pay $50 for a two minute phone call to a pharmacy and I really didn't appreciate Dr. Sims' unwillingness to be helpful in this stressful situation.



About an hour later, a receptionist from Dr. Sims office called and said that I was going to be charged $50. I told them I wasn't going to be charged any money when NOTHING had been done. I was then told that if I wanted anything about my birth control prescription changed that I would have to come in for an office visit because it had been 7 months since my last visit.



I told the receptionist that I was never going back to Dr. Sims' office again because they were completely unwilling to help me and actually made the process of getting a different prescription while having an allergic reaction way harder than it had to be.



I totally don't recommend this doctor. She never asked how my face was doing. She never recommended any treatment or recommendations for my allergic reaction. She wasn't truthful when she told her medical assistant that she couldn't get a prescription for me because I was in Louisiana and not Texas. Her fees for making a two minute phone call to the pharmacy are outrageous. I can't be the first client this has happened to, but requiring me to come in for an office call when she knows I am in a different state was the epitome of poor customer service.

Dr very nice and always smiling. Although finding this doctor online, I think this has been the best choice for me. Was able to see the doctor quickly .EXCELLENT DOCTOR! Very polite staff! Would like more weekend appointments if possible.

Dr Sims spent a lot of time with me and listened. She really seemed to care and was not in a rush. She is very thorough and I highly recommend. Great and cheerful personality.

Dr. Sims was absolutely wonderful! She was very informative, careing, up beat, and her bed side manner was amazing. She made me feel very confortable and relaxed, not to mentioned she has great since of humor. You can tell she really enjoys her work. I will, without a doubt see her again!

Love the doctor, she is so awesome and sweet, but her staff members are a different story. i am not going to name names, but there are some that are just rude. They give you the run around, and dont give the doctor messages that you leave for her. I am very unhappy with the way the staff members have treated me, and just for that i might be going to another ob.
