Great store with a large selection and top notch folks to deal with. Hugger helped me get set up with everything I needed for my Big Green Egg. He answered my questions and returned my phone calls. It was a pleasure doing business with them. Highly recommend you doing business with them as well!

Shopping at this hardware store is enjoyable, since the staff is helpful and competent. Unfortunately, my recent experience leads me to question the integrity of the retailer. My complaint relates to a price change on a major product--gas grills.

We have shopped for Weber E-210 grills at Home Dept, Lowes, and Ace since early Fall of this year. The price was $399 at all of these 3 retailers, since we had been looking at these grills since September. We decided to buy at Palmetto Ace because we live in Pawleys Island, and we want to support local businesses. We went to Ace this past Friday to buy the grill and discovered that the price was now $449. This is a $50 increase for the same product! This product was never on "sale" at any of these retailers--$399 was the price at all three.

We can only guess at why Ace changed the price for the same product. Is this "opportunistic Christmas Season pricing? The price at Home Depot and Lowes is still $399, and we later bought the grill at Lowes. Unfortunate that our Pawleys island retailer needs to be watched closely if you intend to buy a major product.

Ace has responded to my above complaint, and I will withdraw my complaint about the price discrepancy on the Spirit Weber Grill. Apparently the Weber grill at the $449 price had stainless steel doors, which resulted in the higher price. The store did not have the grill at $399 in stock. When we visited the store, we simply were not told of the reason for the higher price. Ace clearly did not unfairly manipulate the price for this product. They are basically good people Unfortunately, we were not informed of the reason for the price discrepancy until my above review was posted.
