This is the only hotel in Paxton. I thought it would be nice because of the reviews other people had given on hotels.com and kayak.com. I was very disappointed.



The room smelled of ammonia...which showed that it had been cleaned. However, the ammonia was pervasive and after 1 hour in the room, I got a headache and dizzy. I attempted to get fresh air from the heater unit, but the knob to turn on air was missing. I opted to open the window for fresh air...on a frigid, rainy night rather than die from ammonia fumes.



As Hotel was "booked full" room could not be changed. Very strange since I was the only car in lot when I arrived and only car when I left.



My suggestion try Champaign or Urbana for a better place to stay
