Best school ever

Let me start by saying they never say that a Power Ranger will be teaching the class just that he is owner of the school big difference. This school is great and they do a wonderful job teaching them how to respect others as well as themselves. They teach them what dedication and discipline. I love this school. It's the best choice I've made for my child.

Total disappointment. Definit...

Total disappointment. Definitely not worth $129/month, plus 3 MONTH cancellation notification. Enrolled child with expectation they would learn karate knowledge and karate skills. Owner did some TV back in the day. Nice, but we just wanted our child to learn martial arts. Not the case. Classes were completely unorganized. You got the feeling they were making it up as they went along. There was no focus on technique or development of skills. There was no repetition. There was no schedule. Each class was completely different from the last.

Owners are frequently out of touch. Unfortunately, ONLY the owners are able to address billing concerns or contract disputes. We regret signing up, wasting our child's time, and wasting our hard earned money.

Take business elswhere.

As everyone your child gets tricked into attending classes here thinking they will be taught by a POWER RANGER. Well that is not the case, he is there for every trial class but you wont see he after that. My son came into the rising sun karate school in Pearland with no experience. My son was in the 6-9 yr class. He got up to blue belt before being so bored in class he no longer wanted to attend. We as parents tried to encourage him to continue on but when you are taught class by a 16-17 year old who barely knows Karate and is more interested in what it happening outside of class how can you expect the class to be interested. When the actual instructor taught class it was a little better but he wanted to do as little work as possible. Then when you decide to cancel they tell you all you have to do is submit a certified letter. Well they don't tell you that you will be charged for 90 days that you wont be attending after you cancel. BIGGEST RIP OFF EVER! DO NOT FALL FOR THE SCAM THEY ARE RUNNING!

Wow!

RSKA is by far the most outstanding martial arts academy I have ever heard of. At the Pearland location, they use practical methods and reasoning to install self defense techniques. I've read through the previous reviews, and I must say that I disagree with what a couple people thought. From the time you enter the door, you are made aware of how the classes work, schedules, and payments. There are no contacts. Although, there is a rate agreement. This agreement protects the customer from price changes for 36 months. Yes, it asks that you give them a notice 90 days in advance if you plan to cancel. However, they also offer you the opportunity to transfer to another martial arts school under the same billing company (which is very convienant because so many businesses work through them). My only suggestion would be that before someone signs themselves or children up for classes, they take time to make sure it's what they want. No employee at Rska pushes a "sale" onto someone. Intact, they ask you not to sign up immediately. They TELL you to go home and talk about it, and even come back and review how the classes work before signing up. Rska is very professional.

And I must add that my experiences with the instructors at Rska Pearland have been very informative and friendly. They are like a family. I've had the opportunity to train with Kyoshi Jason Frank, mrs. Tammie Frank, and Kru James Marler. They are all highly skilled and professional. There is no where I would rather learn or take my child.

Wow! I have had my kid in karate for many years, and have experienced a few different schools with different teaching styles. I love love love what this school has given my child! They teach a variety of styles including Ju-Jitsu, Muay-Tai, Kick-Boxing, Traditional Karate - which is all great, but over and above that they teach self defense in a way that a child can understand. I now have my 5 year old enrolled too - and that has been the true test ... I have a VERY busy, disruptive, unfocused little person (granted it took a few weeks to get my child to understand that they need to give karate a chance) and now I get asked every day if they can go to karate as they are looking forward learning more, working harder at home on chores and using their listening ears more because they hear it at the school as well. James Marler is their teacher and he is in one word FANTASTIC!! My children both respect, listen to and love him as their instructor. My older child has learned SO MUCH MORE at this school than any other in under year - I was amazed and proud to see how well my child handled the weapons as well. I am glad I found THIS school for my children and we are not going anywhere!

Incidentally, they teach adults as well :-)

The best school I've been too.

Idk where to begin. This is the best karate school I've ever chosen. When I first found out that this school had the famous power ranger tommy or Jason David frank I was super excited. He taught many of the classes there especially the Muay Thai classes. This school taught me so much. I've been there since it opened in August and never had the tought of leaving. The other instructors are great too. Kru James is a great teacher too and so are the other instructors too. My mom, brother, and sister all joined and we love it. I learned many attacks, forms, how to wrestle and even learn how to use weapons. When I first joined they told my mom everything we needed to know and they have no contracts, so my mom was happy to hear that. This place is great for every age even little kids. There are many kids excited to train here. We're even going to try to get my little sister who's going to 4 to try and join. This place is one of the best karate schools I've ever been too and everyone should give this place a chance.

Do not sign up, we made a huge mistake signing up. They are scammers. We signed up Jason David Franks was a Power Ranger, he is never there. After two months my kids did not learn anything, we decided we wants to quit. We notify them in november, they told us that we need to mail in a certified mail. We mailed in a certified mail and no one received/pick it up. we called them and told them about it, this is now December. they say it is fine and we have to pay the next 3 months to get out of the contract. if the get the letter we only have to pay dec, jan and feb. Because the did not recieved the letter we have to pay til march. i thought everything is over, today i just receive a letter from the collection agency that i own them 9000. this is totally a scam, don't make the same mistake signing up for this.

Jason David Franks is a power ...

Jason David Franks is a power ranger, and my child was so excited about being taught by a power ranger; however, that is not the case. During our trial dates, Jason David Franks was available, but once you sign up, he hardly ever teaches the class. I do not like how they promote him being a power ranger, but yet he is hardly ever there to teach the kids, I just feel like it is false advertisement. If you are choosing this place soley becuase of the power ranger, don't waste your money.
