The Lumber River Area Agency on Aging plans, develops, coordinates and implements programs to meet the needs of older adults and their families in the counties of Bladen, Hoke, Richmond, Robeson and Scotland in North Carolina. It provides health care, therapeutic treatment and social work services. The agency s programs include nutrition and medication management, family care and senior employment assistance. The Lumber River Area Agency on Aging additionally offers nursing, personal care, dietary and transportation services. It provides employment opportunities, job counseling and career development assistance services. The agency also offers respite care services for caregivers. In addition, the Lumber River Area Agency on Aging organizes senior games. It is a part of the Lumber River Council of Governments.
