Provided by YP.comThe professionalism of the staff needs work to say the least! They are unreasonable and make you jump through hoops to care for your pet. Not to my standards by any means!

Provided by YPmobileI have been using pembroke animal hospital for years . They have always done a great job . A follow up call comes after every concern visit to see how the pup is making out . All business want to be paid for thier services . Prices have been fair and reasonable . I would recommend them to friends and family

Provided by YP.comMy experience with Pembroke Animal Hospital has been the exact opposite of those described below. I have experienced nothing but caring and compassion from both doctors and staff. Treatment options are always carefully explained and my decisions are always respected. When our dog Buster developed cancer at age 12, Dr. Julian offered to do surgery but put it in the context of expected quality of life. In the end, after an extended discussion, we declined surgery. When it became clear that Buster was dying and in pain, we made the decision to hasten death. When we called to schedule an appointment, they offered to come to the house. Dr. Julian and an assistant came to our home, gave us time to say good-bye, made sure Buster was comfortable before the end. What a gift to know that Buster died at home surrounded by those who loved him. I recommend Pembroke Animal Hospital to everyone I know and I recommend them here as well.

Provided by YP.comPembroke Animal Hospital is irresponsible. We had terrible service by serval different Dr.'s as they had turnover and covering doctors all to say no one knew what was going on with our dog each time we had a visit in a 3 month period of time.
On our last visit we expressed our concerns and lack of consistent care with the new doctor, who NEVER acknowledged our dog when she entered the room only to be told that they had done the wrong test and would need another 180.00 to do the RIGHT test to determine what was going on with our dog. This is after we had already spent 500.00 for them to tell us what was wrong with our dog each time we went. Needless to say we switched Vets. When i called to express my concern and frustration I was promised by the office manager that I would have a returned call within a week. After 2 weeks I called 3 times only to be given the brush off (or should I say that the OM was busy , out of the office. I left 3 messages, with not one acknowledgement. If they cared they would want to hear how their lack of consistent service, caused for a misdiagnosis of our dog. The one thing that they had no problem with was the service of collecting money for all the horrible service they provided and then wanted nothing to do with hearing some feedback about our dogs care. Stay away, they are a joke. I don't usually write reviews but their lack of responsiveness deserves to be shared so others don' t experience or their animals such bad care.
Sometimes animals have illnesses that can be difficult to diagnose, especially when, as in your dog's case, there are multiple disease processes going on at the same time. Sometimes it takes more than one test to arrive at a definitive diagnosis. This does not mean that the first test done was wrong or that your dog was misdiagnosed. It simply means more information is needed - the same is true for human medicine. The reasons for the second test being indicated were explained by the doctor when it was recommended. It is unfortunate that your dog's condition and the doctor's recommendations were not explained by her in a way that made sense to you, and that is a failure on our part. The recommendations, however, were sound. You have a valid point about seeing more than one doctor for the same patient, and that is something we are going to work toward resolving - it's nice to see the same doctor every time, it allows them to really get to know you and your pet. We make every attempt to ensure that our clients are happy because we do care about you and your pets.

Provided by YP.comhmmmm well my dogs needed to be boarded for 5 days and i knew they needed shots so i authorize that and stool sample testing to be done which is required . what i didnt authorize was dr giving them physicals which they just had done by their own vets within last 2 months so that cost was over 120.00. will we use them again NO.. they took it upon themselves to do something my dogs didnt need done and that is not acceptable!
We are sorry that your experience here was less than what you had hoped for, as we strive to provide excellent service to our clients and loving care to our patients. The reason your pets were given an examination before their vaccines was to make sure they were well enough to receive them - it can be very dangerous to vaccinate an animal who is not well, and it clearly states on our boarding agreement that an examination will be done if any vaccines are administered. The well being of our patients is our highest concern, and we would never jeopardize their health by giving vaccines without first making sure they were well.
