Provided by YPmobileThey are dishonest, they refused to pay me because I put a bad review online. The new owners are horrible.

Provided by YP.comI went to Kids Exchange for the first time today , I found a store full of quality items, lots of toys and clothing and It was ran by good people providing exemplary service.
One of the girl was meticulously cleaning the toys, wiping them over and over , everything in there looked clean and organized.
I did not take my stroller into the store because I noticed from outside that it would have been really hard to move around in the narrow spaces between all the shelving and clothing racks , I carried my baby in my arms.
After I bought multiple toys for my daughter they took that extra step and loaded everything I bought into my car for me.
I really didn't need anything today, I ended up buying 6 things .
Loved Loved Loved this store!

Provided by YP.comThese folks really are "something." They make it so complicated to get any value for your items. They charge you $10 to consign, take 60% (if they don't lose or donate without your consent) and then make it so limiting to come by the store just like medeval days, phone or mailing a check doesn't seem to be good enough-apparently they are too cheap to spend a stamp and unwilling to use a self-addressed stamped envelope I dropped off before going on vacation. Upon my return they had nothing, apparently they are taking the tax write-off by donating to Goodwill. Doesn't sound right, seems they learned a trick or too from Enron.
I am sorry you were unhappy with consigning at our store. Getting people to read our contract before they sign is one of our biggest challenges.Everything you were unhappy with was clearly spelled out in our contract that you signe. Every consignment store charges a fee. The $10 annual fee covers the cost of checking your clothes in,tagging them, putting them away, selling them, and unfortunately bagging them if they are going to be donated. It clearly states that checks are issued between the 15th and 25th of each month. With over 2,000 consigners the cost of mailing out checks would be prohibitive and only reduce profits for both the store and consigner. Just for the record we have never taken a tax credit from ANY charity because we can't. It is plain and simple. Our split 60/40 again,is clearly stated. The customer split is pure profit. From our 60% we pay rent, employees, taxes, utilities, etc. On certain mlarge items we do a 50/50 split to help the customer. In our contract and taped to our counter is a sign informing customers that if after a consignment is taken in a defect is found we reserve the right to donate that item. We check in sometimes over 600 items a day. Occasionally an item gets by us on the first round of inspection. When you sign the contract, you agree if that happens your item can be donated. We have served the community for 27 years and for 11 years in a row have won numerous awards for being "The Best of The Best." No one stays in business that long if the cornerstone of their store is built on fraud and deceit. PLEASE read your contract and if you would like to give us another try we would love to have you back.
