Its not what you say, its how you say it.



I first met Dr Z. October of 2010, after moving to Pensacola. For the past 4 years, I was under the care of a wonderful Dr from Birmingham Alabama. My first impression of Dr Z. was he was rude. Because of multiple medical conditions, I have to deal with several Dr's and not all of them have the best bedside manner. I understand Dr's are very busy and does not have time for idle chit-chat. So I took the snide demeanor with a grain of salt and hired him as my pain management doctor.



As a result of my most recent experience with him, it is evident that lack of bedside manner is a gross understatement. He was dismissive of my concerns and argumentative when I informed him the last treatment was not successful. He basically insisted that my condition improved even tho it had not.



I have been under the care of a pain management specialist for five years after a spinal fusion on my L4-S1 vertebrae. It appears that Dr Z. does not take any of that into consideration and is treating my condition as if it is a recent injury, and insists on performing steroid injections every two weeks. This is expensive, time consuming, un-productive and simply unsustainable.



It is my opinion that his concern in money first, then his golf game, and somewhere down the list the welfare of his patients.



I will be asking my primary care physician for a new referral ASAP.
