With an inventory of more than 210 facilities totaling more than 2.1 million square feet, the Facilities Management Maintenance Division s daily requirements are a challenge. The facilities vary in size, age, type of construction and usage. A number of the county s buildings function as customer-oriented service facilities. However, there are a variety of special-purpose facilities, including as the sheriff s administrative and correctional facilities, fire departments, emergency management sites and community centers. At the conclusion of Fiscal year 2004/05, the company s overall inventory increased by two facilities from the previous year, with the average cost to maintain these structures remaining $1.45 per square foot. Located in Pensacola, Fla., where it employs nearly 90 people.
