New Horizons of North West Florida serves the physically and developmentally challenged in northwest Florida since 1942. At that time, the organization was known as Northwest Florida Crippled Children s Association and its original intent was to serve the polio victims of that time. The American Legion Auxiliary Post 33 saw the need for care of disabled children and established the facility. In 1980, the facility was moved to its present location. New Horizons of Northwest Florida serves more3 than 25 disabled and challenged individuals. Certain members of the facility s staff are available throughout the night. Some of the facility s staff are registered nurses. New Horizons of Northwest Florida has medical monitoring facilities, physical therapy facilities, occupational therapy offices, speech therapy programs and behavioral training programs. The facility is located in Pensacola, Fla.
