I have being going to Quest on Bayou Blvd for years for Doctor prescribed blood work. It has always been a good experience. It is clean, they are very prompt with appointments and best of all everyone there have always been pleasant and professional

I am very dissatisfied with this patient service center. I took my 6 year old daughter to get her blood drawn because our insurance requires that we use Quest. The ladies who assisted us were very unprofessional. As soon as we arrived and they saw that I had a small child, they asked is this for you or her? I said it was for my daughter. We then sat down to wait our turn. They were calling patients back in the order as they arrived. They then called me up to the desk to get our insurance information. The lady asked if my daughter had ever had blood work before. I advised her that she had not. The 2 ladies at the front desk began arguing about who was going to draw her blood. Neither one of them wanted to do it. They made that very clear. They then asked if we could sit down while the set up. While we were waiting another patient came in. They ended up calling him back first when it was our turn. The lady then came out and told me that they called him back before us because it was going to take the 2 of them to do her blood work. They then called us back. They told me that I would have to hold her which I knew. My child was scared to death of getting blood work. I had to hold her tight and she was kicking and screaming and I was trying to hold her down. She was out of control which I am sure is expected from children. My child accidentally kicked one of the ladies and she acted like it was a huge deal. She asked me to hold her legs. I was trying to hold her as tight as I could but it was a challenge. They then stopped what they were doing and said they could not do her blood work due to how my child was acting. The one lady then stated that my child kicked her twice and that we would have to go elsewhere. She then stated (in front of my frantic child) that I would have to take her to the hospital so they could strap her down. I am extremely upset with how these ladies acted from the time we checked in. They made it very clear that neither one of them wanted to do blood work on my child because they apparently are too scared or are not skilled enough to do blood work on children. They do not have any business working with kids due to their conduct. I have called my insurance company to advise them on how these people acted and that I refuse to use this lab again.

The staff at any medical facility should be trained in how to handle children if they service all ages. Their manners were terrible. They never even attempted to calm my child. This all started when they were unprofessionally arguing over who was going to do the blood work. This experience was awful. I plan to contact our insurance commissioner in our area to advise them of what occurred in hopes that your staff will receive better training in how to deal with children or propose that children do not have to visit this facility. In fact, I don't believe this facility should be allowed to service children.
