It should not take an hour to drop your pet off for boarding...need a new drop off system. The care is good but time will frustrate you from using their service.

This Doctor is TOP NOTCH! I have seen him reconstruct a dogs leg that was in a dozen pieces. He stays ahead of the curve when it comes to new procedures. His lazer surgery is out of this world.

DO NOT GO HERE. THEY WILL KILL YOUR ANIMALS!!! CAUTION!
Took our tortitabby Mary in due to her having some respiratory issues and not eating her food. Dr. Perez thought it had something to do with blood pressure and told my mom that she wouldn't need to be watched, and prescribed some blood pressure meds without any blood work, or any clear reason as to what was happening to cause the symptoms. Also, I repeat, Dr. Perez was specifically asked if our cat Mary could be left for a brief period. She said it would be A-OK. We left to get food for her. When we got back, 15 minutes later, our precious Mary was dead. She was under the bed with her mouth and eyes open trying to breathe. She died alone because of Doctor Perez.

Spoke with the owner, Dr. Gina Sorgey. She was unremorseful and felt they had done nothing wrong in prescribing medicine to an animal that may or may not have actually needed it, or telling my mother that our cute baby mama cat could be left alone and didn't need any supervision. She was complacent in hearing that the ONLY reason we left the house was because we were told we could. Otherwise, her life may have been saved. We had no idea our poor Mary was close to death.

My mother is poor and disabled, and I am her only support now after the recent death of my father. Thanks Safe Harbor. See you in court. Malpractice suit coming your way, ass holes.
THIS PLACE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMALS. JUST THE MONEY. DO NO COME HERE. BE WARNED!

Nail trim

I recently came in for a nail trim. Staff unfriendly again. Got home and found two nails not trimmed at all and others barely trimmed. Just a sloppy trim and it is not the first time. I won't be back again, such a shame. They have lost me as a client..Unbelievable cannot complete a nail trim correctly.

I waited to write this review so I wouldn't be fuming. This past winter my 13 year old basset hound had a slipped disc and Dr. Peterson (the only good part of the practice!) put her on Prednisone. She had a bad reaction to the medicine and a different vet took her off the medicine cold turkey (a huge no no) and told me we needed to fix her digestion before we could worry about her back. Long story short, Dr. Peterson was injured and we didn't get to see him again until it was too late. Nat and Gina tried to tell me she was just suffering from arthritis although we brought her in no less than 10 times in two months trying to get some help. She ended up going paralyzed directly due to Gina's lack of care and we had no choice other than to put her down. These veterinarians DO NOT bother even looking at anything other than what you sign in for so be detailed on that sign in sheet or just don't expect stellar service. 90% of the vet techs and receptionists mimic the behavior of the veterinarians, rude and uncaring. I'd give zero stars if I could and won't ever go back here or recommend.

Where I've been taking my pets for over 20 years! Very professional and personal. Pets are part of our families and they treat them as such! Highly recommend them.

Don't board your pets there, they don't always get good treatment. Don't expect availability if your exotic pet has an emergency. It's difficult to get your exotic in as the exotic pet vet seems to rarely be there. The place seems bipolar. One moment they love you, the next they act like they don't want your business. Seems the "wealthier" patients get better care than the "poor" ones.

I absolutely love everyone at Safe Harbor! They are without a doubt the best around! Their prices are reasonable and their hearts are huge. My family has been using them for over 20 years. I drive from Milton to see them because I know they care about my dogs.

THERE IS NO BETTER !!!! I have had other doctors for my pets over the years but I can't say enough about the wonderful people at Safe Harbor! They are not my doctor but Precious and Moomoo's and that is who the doctors speak too. It amazes me how they approach their patients which are the beloved pets that are entrusted to them for help. I have had them for my baby's doctor for many years now and they are as wonderful and attentive as they were when I 1st became part of their family. If you are reading this review and are looking for the best for your baby then call Safe Harbor and you will have the best with out question! My husband and I have witnessed some amazing compassion during some dark days from some of their patients that come to Safe Harbor for help that end up on the news from being abused. The most important thing I can say is my babies trust these doctors and their staff to take care of them when I need help. There is NO BETTER than Safe Harbor!

I went to Safe Harbor because I had a voucher for my dog to be spayed since she came to me unexpectedly They were so nice and it was time to get my other dog and a cat their rabies vaccines and I had to take in Chloe for stitches to be removed so made appt for all at one time. I took 2 children under 5 ,2 dogs and a cat so you can imagine the craziness!!! They put us in a room right away and checked out each pet with great care. .Dr. Perez was kind and suggested better flea control and simply cleaned up the mess my dog made from being scared without missing a beat., The receptionist was detailed in explaining tags and papers and said how good my daughters were. I was with another place for years and spent way too much time in waiting room. I was in and out in 25 minutes today.Safe Harbor has 4 new animals!!!!

I have used Safe Harbor for at least 10 years now. I hope I never have to go anywhere else. I am surprised by the poor reviews and comments about rude and incompetent staff or doctors. My pets have seen every doctor and all have been excellent. The prices are very reasonable. The staff and doctors have been competent and very compassionate ( I had to have two of my older 'babies' put to sleep last year at different times. I was a mess ). I've had it all; basic care, general questions, surgery, boarding, and care of the pet owner (me). Feel confident when you make the choice to take your pet here. Thank you everyone at Safe Harbor - Julie Loftin

Staff can be very hit or miss. One day they seem competent and professional, next visit they are rude and all thumbs. Not very consistent care. Have come to believe this is caused by their opinion of the owner. I have walked in and been treated very well by the staff members I know. But if I get someone who doesn't know me, me and my pet are treated terribly.

I adopted 2 very small kittens from Escambia County Animal shelter and within days one was limping on her front paw. Took her to Safe Harbor and this kitten( Bianca or valentine) received the best care I have ever seen. I am no expert but I was asking the vet " Would you treat me ?". Found this Animal harbor to have their priorities different than just about any other ( Except Dr. Bill Marshall great Orthopedic Surgeon with his heart in the right place) professional by actually caring for these pets with their eye on the ball of " What is best for the Pet" instead of deriding patron for poor pet keeping skills,How much money can we get or Let's let the patron feel powerless. Found staff to be the opposite composition by treating this injured kitten like she was the most important thing in the world. I trust their veterinarian skills. Hard to find like a good honest car mechanic. You stay with them. 5 out of 5 stars rating. Pat Dwyer Pensacola

they're great.

Do not listen to the other reviews. I have taken all my animals there for there first visits. They let me try the flew pills for my cat, they gave me little booklets to keep up with there shots that theyes can sign everytime. The vets are super friendly. They actually seem like they care about your animal. And there not that expensive. It costs me $50 for my 2 dogs to get there shots. And it costs 105 for my cat to get spayed and I got her tags with it. Yes there assistanst could be friendlier but there not just rude to you. And I suggest before you get a surgery for your animal read up on the operation. Don't get mad when hour animal comes back the exact way it was suppose to because you didn't know that's how the surgery was suppose to go. I review everything before I do it. I don't expect the vet to tell you everything. If your doing the procedure then you must know about it if you want it done.

They charge a $20 fee to get a written prescription for heart worm preventative out of their clinic. Essentially, this is a corporate tariff to thwart consumer shopping and competition. Try competition in the market place by lowering prices! Will never go back.

staff is very unfrienly with no communication skills, i cant stand this vet, oh and if your pet has arthritis they will wave a "magic wand" of sorts with some led lights on it and claim it with help with the infammation, quack medicine is not what i pay for

We have been with Safe Harbor for 15 years. Woke up this am to thunder and lightning and an itchy dog. Reached over to pet him and discovered his lips were like balloons. Gave Benadryl and monitored. At noon he had hives and lips were still huge. With road closures due to the storm I never expected safe harbor to be open, but dr nat and dr Gina were there. With flooding issues took some doing to get there but we did. Thank you Safe Harbor for being there for a scared puppy momma.

This place is the BEST!! They have several doctors on staff and they can treat anything from a tortoises to a deer. Dr. Forgey is a bird specialist and Dr. McKerley can fix anything on 4 legs. They just upgraded there facility so they have twice as much room and my dog won't stay anywhere else when he's boarding. I have seen the work that these doctor do and it's amazing. It almost impossible to go anywhere else after you have been here.
