I recently enrolled my daughter into Sandcastle Academy after a horrible experience with her first daycare. She is two years old and I take pride in how incredibly smart she is. She began attending another daycare two months ago for the very first time and was anxious and excited. After the second day I began having trouble getting her to even wake up much less let me drop her off. Being unexperienced and having no one in my family to get advice from, I took her to the closest daycare to my home, a BIG mistake. There was almost never anyone at the front desk, the children had no daily curriculum and rarely had group learning activites, they were not made to sit down as a group and eat meals, which when discussing two year olds is practically a necessity in order to get them to stop playing and eat, and their day basically consisted of watching cartoons. The Sandcastle Academy was referred to me by a friend, and I will definately recommend it to others. Although it is only my second experience with a childcare facility, I do not plan to search for another one. They have weekly curriculum reports to let the parents know what the teachers plan to do with the children every day. On Fridays they send home all of the artwork the children make through the week. My daughter was so happy to return to "school" after our Christmas vacation that she woke me up this morning!
