I discovered China Place, in 1996, the first week I moved to AZ. It's not PF Changs and it's not a buffet. It's a clean, cute neighborhood Chinese restaurant like our parents took us to after church for Sunday dinner back in the mid-west. The food is consistently delicious and a great value for the budget. The wonton soup is fabulous with crunchy pea pods and large shrimp. The lemon chicken is tangy and cooked to perfection. The almond chicken and kung pao chicken are family favorites. My sis and I often share the pepper steak or the moo shu pork when it's just the two of us. It's not unusual to run into neighbors and friends with their families enjoying their dinners. The staff is friendly and the food is cooked to order, using cholesterol free oils and no MSG. The a la carte portions are big enough to share and served family style. Whether my friends are visiting from Scottsdale, or Myrtle Beach this is the place they all want to eat at. And if you are in a hurry, just call ahead and you will be told "OK, pick up in 8 minutes."

For years I ate here because it was within driving distance of my home and places I go to run errands. Recently I ordered the sweet and sour as I always to but a friend ordered the orange chicken. The suace was the same sauce. I decided to try another chinese restaurant in the area to see if traditionally the red sauce is what they use for orange chicken and it isn't. I will not go back there since I also ordered sesame chicken and it was brown like the Teriyaki chicken and made sick just to look at let alone eat since again at the new restaurant I discovered the sesame chicken is different.

The food is really good.Especially the shrimp fried rice.I also love the service.We've been eating there for years and the quality has not changed at all.
