Alpha Park Library, established in 1972, provides reading materials and library services to community members of Bartonville, Ill. The library offers a large collection of new releases and bestseller books, magazines, computers with Internet access, CD-ROM programs, books on tape and CD, large print materials, reference volumes, newspapers, music cassettes and discs. It also provides services, such as inter-library loans, fax and photocopy machines, notary public and voter registration and phone reference assistance. Alpha Public Library has allocated the second floor of the building to children, youth and teen programming, offering special summer reading programs and educational toys. The library serves a district of more than 28,000 people, with over 7,000 active patrons.
