"Du-Mont Company’s beginnings date back to 1953. A Peoria based supply company ,Lee Wagner Supply Co., was located downtown on Perry Street. The founders of Du-Mont, Clarence DuVall and Don Montgomery, were hired as salesmen at Wagner and later formed the company as titled today as part of their last names “Du” and “Mont” in 1955 after Lee Wagner’s retirement. The company was moved from downtown Peoria to its current home off of Pioneer Parkway on the north side of Peoria in 1963. Our main focus was commercial HVAC System fabrication and installation. In 1965, a change in the marketplace allowed Du-Mont to become more actively involved in industrial sheet metal and ventilation with industry leaders like include Ameren, ComEd, Caterpillar, and ADM. Du-Mont values their employees as much as their customers, and has always promoted from within. Over the years, the owners have always been employees and our perspective will remain to train and educate our employees so that they will be able to continue this tradition in the years to come."
