Hines Primary School, founded in 1840, serves more than 500 students in prekindergarten through grade four. Suspending my first grader

My son who is in the first grade is on Medidote for his adhd. He wasn't on his medication today because I couldn't get his medication refill which is my fault. I tried informing the school this morning but only got a voice mail. I was hoping to call back but work got real busy and I honestly thought there would be no problem..whats one day, right? Well I got a call from the school informing me my son was going to be suspended for two days for throwing a temper and knocking things off his desk. When I informed Mrs. Wiggers of my son not being on his meds she wanted not to hear nor take any consideration to the reason for my sons outbursts. Children with adhd tend to act out when not medicated and its not their fault. Suspending a first grader for that in my eyes is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard and not just because he's my son because its my fault not his. He never harmed anyone or cursed or anything. Mrs. Wiggers informed me they had guests so basicly my son was suspended because the school was embarrassed. I am shocked by this and I believe its a little much for the behavior my son had no control of. Hopefully with the help of my sons doctor informing Hines of adhd and the consiquences of not being medicated will help them to understand normal discipline would do the job not suspending a seven year old.
