Provided by YPmobileWent on a Tuesday night for a birthday dinner. Service was extremely slow, and the food was OK. I had to send my panini back because it was complete mush on the bottom, and my husbands burger was served to him with wilted, brown lettuce- probably from sitting under a heat lamp. It wasn't completely horrible, but it wasn't good either. Spent $60 on a crappy meal. Won't go back...

We have been patrons of Hawkeyes since it opened without complaint. Friday 11/09/12 I called to make a reservation for six for Saturday evening 11/10/12 for my daughters 21st birthday. . The young lady on the other end asked me did I want the dining room or the bar - I selected the dining room and was told we would be sitting in a booth that would seat six in the dining room. On Saturday 11/10/12 in the afternoon I received a call from "Lee Ann" from Hawkeyes telling me that there had been a "complication" with my reservation and did I mind pushing the time forward to "at least seven o'clock" OR we could have a regular booth that seats four with a "chair at the end of the table" - I said this would absolutely not work and I explained that this was my daughters 21st birthday, six people had rearranged their schedules to be able to attend her birthday dinner and a booth that seats four with a chair at the end for a fifth person was not going to accomadate six people. I asked her to explain the "complication" that had arisen overnite and she gave me some song and dance about the group that reserved the table for five o'clock "might run late" and we would then "have to wait" for the table. I explained to Lee Ann that if we could not keep our original reservation we would have to go elsewhere and I needed to know as soon as possible. Leeann said she was going to call the group with the five o'clock reservations and see if they could come earlier - she then called me back a short time later and said everything was fine - those people would come earlier and they would make good on the reservation I had made over 24 hrs prior. Low and behold when our party of six arrived we were told by the front desk girls that "the waitresses" had just seated people at our booth "without checking the reservation list". The entire vibe was totally chaotic and the front desk girls were clearly clueless. We were told we could sit in the bar - but there would not be enough room for six people - or we could wait (at this point another party of six approached the desk and wondered when they would be seated - either they were ok with the booth and the chair option or that one lone booth for six was reserved twice for two different groups of people and then given to people who had NO reservation.) We waited for a bit during which time the girls at the front desk made absolutely NO EFFORT to apologize or fully explain what happened. At no time did any of them even look our way - they continued to chat and act like nothing had happened. At this point ANY kind of expression of concern or some kind of an apology could have salvaged the situation; but instead it was very apparent that these girls could not have cared less if we stayed or went. At this point we called Revivals Restuarant who were willing to accomadate our party with 15 MINUTES NOTICE after hearing what had happened at Hawkeyes - and we left. As we were in the middle of my daughters 21st Birthday dinner at Revivals - (which was delicious, by the way) somebody called my cell from Hawkeyes and in a very blase' manner let us know our table was "ready" (this was about 7:30 pm - our reservations for Hawkeyes were for six thirty, as I said) and did we still want it - I have to tell you I got quite a kick out of that - I informed her that: She had to be joking - that we had no intention of ever eating there again. Not even Chef Ramsey could straighten out this indifferent staff. In fact, thanks to them we discovered another restaurant which will receive our business from now on. This young staff needs to be reminded that patrons = money for their paychecks. The customer is EVERYTHING.EditDelete
