First of Shout out to my Baber Stephen one of the great barbers that Jay the owner has at his disposal. As far service I've cutting my hair at Cutting Edge since I got to Virginia and to tell you the truth I will not cut my hair anywhere else, I rather go without. When got to Jay's I feel like family. Really professionals and down to earth Barbers. Again would not cut my hair no where else, Thanks Jay!!!

Hands down the best barber shop in the Tri Cities area! I have been going to the cutting edge for almost 3yrs now and have not had one issue. The atmosphere, the barbers and the quality cuts is what keeps myself and many others returning on a weekly basis.

After reading a couple of the negative reviews below, you may begin to get a jaded view of this Barber Shop. Please indulge me for a moment as I attest to the superior professionalism and character with which this shop is operated. I have had Jay as a barber for a little over a year now. I have come to respect and admire Jay, not just for his quality and passion in his work, but more for his love for his faith and his family. Jay is a man of outsanding character and intergrity. I have had the great fortune of meeting Jay's family and seeing what a good husband and father he is to those he holds closest. Do not be easily fooled, Jay's quality of character and intergrity carry through to his business as well. As a business owner, sometimes we have to make decisions that benefit the whole, not just and individual. I completely respect and admire Jay for having the honesty and integrity to be able to stand on his own two feet, work sometimes in excess of 80 hours a week, all to support the ones he loves. THAT MY FRIENDS - is what being a true man is all about. I have had the honor of getting to know Jay as well as one of his other barbers (Steve). The two work well together and seem to treat anyone they meet with the utmost respect. My life is certainly better for stepping into this shop one afternoon - Thank you, Jay - keep up the excellent work and keep treating people the way you do - Press on and keep moving - I am proud to say I am one of your loyal customers! - Joshua A.

The owner “Jay” said that the shop does not take appointments on Sunday. Sunday is walk-ins only, first come first served. I came to his shop on Sunday May 10, 2015 at 5:30am. I was there before anyone, even the owner. I wanted to make sure I would be first. When Jay pulled in to the parking lot he said “Hey you know we do not open until 7”. I told him “Yes” and I waited in my car until he opened his doors. One of his friends came and he took him first. That was not a big deal but another one of his friends came and again he took them before me. Every time he answered the phone he would tell people “come in, Sunday is walk-ins only”. The point of this story is DON’T GO TO THIS SHOP, UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAIT IN LINE BEHIND ALL HIS FRIENDS. BAD BUSINESS MAN!!!!!!! I never got my hair cut that day. He offered to have another barber cut my hair when they got there. Jay said that another barber would be there by 7:30, it was already passed 7:30. Why say Sunday is walk-ins only if you do not honor your policy. Please fix this! The first time I came to his shop Jay cut my hair and he did a great job. But I guess he has changed his business practices.

Let me start by saying I am the owner at the barbershop (jay). As for Monique, its personal and religious reasons why I no longer cut female hair and I professionally and respectfully offered to have one of my barbers cut her hair and it was she who got rude with me on the phone even though I tried my best to help. I later found out by the people who refereed her that she was an individual with an attitude and not very liked amungst her piers at the school she was attending. As a business, it is common to have customers who cannot appreciate a respectful and honest establishment and unfortunately there will be more of these kind of people looking to leave a negative review than those that will take the time to leave a positive one.

Called to make an appointment since that's the business preferred method fur clientele to be serviced. The owner "Jay" started taking my info for appt then he told me he didn't cut "female's hair" because he's not comfortable. Though his business card clearly states " barber & stylist". Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism & discrimination received. I asked politely what his reasoning for not cutting & his response " I'm not comfortable"; I asked even though I have a "boy" cut... Unreal!
