I talked to someone from Simon Lee at the Bridal Extravaganza in the Austin Convention Center (which was a zoo to begin with), and asked if he would be willing to work with me on making a dairy-free wedding cake. To my surprise, I got a one-word answer, "No!" No explanation, no suggestion. The man turned around and walked away.



I find it very peculiar that one of the best known wedding cake makers in town could be so impersonal, or more accurately, rude. I don't recommend doing business with them regardless of your ability to digest dairy.

Our wedding cake and grooms cake were perfect and exactly as we pictured. They tasted great and our guests loved them. They arrived on time for setup and the presentation was great. We had to return the cake display/pedestal after the wedding which was hard to coordinate with their hours. Maybe because they are busy is why we had problems with that and such a tough time getting an appointment scheduled to begin with that we almost gave up. I am glad that we did not. It was worth it.
