Provided by YP.comMy co-workers and I went here for our annual Holiday dinner; which we have done for many years; and we received the WORST service EVER! I arrived late and my friends had already been seated at a table set for 4. I would make 5 and I asked if there was any way to have another table added or another chair pulled over and I was told by our waitress that I need to squeeze in next to my friends on the bench seating along the wall. I was puzzled since there were very few parties seated in the restaurant. I have never gone into a restaurant where the customer had to accommodate the business. While smushing into the bench seating a busgirl noticed how uncomfortable we were and asked if she could get me a chair, I very happily said yes. While perusing their menu we noticed that the busgirl had gotten in trouble for giving me an extra chair. We felt horrible but what could we do.
Then after the drama from the extra seat, we were ready to order. 2 of my friends placed their order from the fixed menu and then came my turn. I began to order my appetizer, and no sooner then the word “calamari” came out of my mouth, my waitress told me "no." I pointed to my selection on the menu and she then snatched the menu out of my hands and told me no once again. I was very confused at this point. She proceeded to walk away without explanation.
I found the busgirl, apologized for the commotion, and asked to speak with the manager. I was told that the mgr was busy and the bartender/asst mgr came over instead. He informed me that I was asked to squeeze in because they would need the table later (btw it was never used while we were there along with a few other tables that sat empty) He then asked me to fill in the seat that my friend was in after she leaves (she was leaving early). I agreed. I continued to explain the menu situation, he apologized for her behavior but explained that I had received an old menu. I had no problem ordering from the current menu, but it was all about how the waitress handled the situation This happened last December and I have yet to return.
Admittedly the service had always been extremely slow every time I’d eaten at Casselli’s, but the food and entertainment were always good so we conceded to how it worked there. After having such a miserable and nasty waitress along with the slow service I will sadly and angrily say I will never eat there again!
