He was such a jerk. We had sewer issues and we hired him for a big job. We thought the price was good. There were signs posted on the side of the road stating that there would be work done on our street and no parking was allowed around the work site from 7 am to 4pm. So naturally we thought the job would take that long. I left for work around 7am. John ends up finishing around 1:30pm and we are very grateful. My father politely tells John, that if he wouldn't mind waiting, he will call up one of his kids to come over and write him a check since he did not have any at the time. My father calls me up, and at this point I have been held over at work. My father politely asks if I can come home to write John a check as he is done early. I tell him I can be home in 30 minutes. My father relays this message to John and he erupts with rage. I was very proud of my Dad for keeping his cool. But this John character. What a nasty human being! He was cursing and angry that he couldn't not get paid that very second. He could have easily told my father beforehand, "hey we'll be wrapping up in an hour, can you have my check ready?" My Dad even tried appeasing him saying that he will drive to where ever he is and give him the check as soon as I get there to give it to him. He literally screams "I want to go to the bank now and deposit this check!!!" On the other end, I put the phone down, afraid for my father and rushed home. Luckily my brother got there before me and by the time I got home the plumber had graciously left with his check. Who knows what kind of a plumber he is. Only time will tell what kind of a job he did. But he is a rude and difficult man to deal with and without even meeting him, I know we will never use his services again. From what I heard, his unpleasantness can turn anyone's day bad in a heartbeat. Another terrible representation of this city.
