For more than a decade, Dr. Melanie Amster has treated urologic issues from the mundane to the complex and provided unparalleled compassionate care to thousands of women and men. Dr. Amster diagnoses and treats the variety of urinary tract disorders most prevalent in females, including urinary incontinence and pelvic floor prolapse, voiding dysfunction, recurrent urinary tract infection, interstitial cystitis and kidney stones. After graduating from Barnard College in New York City with a major in biochemistry, she earned her medical degree at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Her training continued at New York Medical College in Valhalla where she was a Resident and then Chief Resident in the Urology Department. Dr. Amster is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the American Urologic Association, the American Medical Association, the Pennsylvania State Medical and Urology Societies as well as the Philadelphia County Medical Society and the Society of Women in Urology. Dr. Amster is affiliated with Hahnemann University Hospital, Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and Roxborough Memorial Hospital.
