I would highly recommend Hancock Funeral Home. The people are amazing. I have spoken with Carol on numerous occassions and she is very nice and well spoken. My mother passed at a hospital in Philadelphia, and since we are in MD we had to jump through all kinds of hoops, so to speak, to get some assisstance to help bury her. Carol did all the leg work for us, and although MD was not willing to help a 48 year old woman with 2 children that have absolutley no money, Hancock quoted me a price that was very reasonable and the cheapest I had heard after calling about 50 funeral homes. They are so nice and willing to help. I am so thankful to have been directed to them! Between Carol and Penn Presbyterian, my faith has been restored in humanity, and there really are good people out there...

I would give this place a zero star if i could. My father passed and a few days later we were checking numerous funeral homes to find a good fit for our family requirements. We shortlisted 3 funeral homes based on locality (primarily ) that we would meet with and discuss further.



The first two we met were professional and courteous and had no issues with providing the relevant information. This was not the case with the Hancock Funeral Home. Mrs Hancock was rude and pushy from the initial conversation and it only got worse.



When i called to set up an appointment I clearly explained that we were just interested in getting some information and then we would make a decision as family and let them know by the following day. ''Sure'' was the response so we booked an appointment for the following day and to my surprise she then suggested we bring my deceased fathers close to the initial appointment. I again explained the procedure we would like to follow to which she said ''ohhhh ok then'' in a unpleasant tone of voice and we ended the call.



The next day (while in an appointment with another funeral home) she calls and i explained that i was busy and asked if we were still good for the appointment later on that day her response in a rude and abrupt manner was "WHATS THE DELAY' i then politely explained again the procedure we as a family wanted to follow and she said ''WHATEVER'' and hung up the phone. Of course i called back 5 minutes later and said we were not intreated in the appointment and she said 'WHY , WHAT DID THEY CHARGE'' and hang up without me even having a chance for me to respond.



I get everybody has bad days but this woman is one of the worst examples of customer service i have ever encountered and she deals with bereaving families. Unless you like being delt with in a derogatory and rude manner by a pushy inconsiderate person i would avoid this place like the plague.
