Hong-An Nguyen, MD, MSc, is an Attending Physician at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is on General Pediatrics.After earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Stanford University in 2010, Dr. Nguyen continued her education at Stanford University School of Medicine, receiving her Doctor of Medicine in 2014. She began her postdoctoral training at Columbia University Medical Center, completing an internship in Pediatrics in 2015 and a residency in 2017. She continued her training at Boston Medical Center, completing a fellowship in General Academic Pediatrics in 2019. In 2019, she also completed her Master of Science in Epidemiology at Boston University School of Public Health.Dr. Nguyen’s research spans general pediatrics, social determinants of health, early childhood development, and community health, with a focus in low-income populations. Her prior work includes the associations between child care settings and health indicators and material hardships in low-income children and families, predictors of age of diagnosis in young children with social communication concerns in a low-income population, and representation of Asian and Asian subgroups in research studies. She has presented her work regionally and nationally. Her work has also been published in reviewed journals.Dr. Nguyen is board certified and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Academic Pediatric Association.
