I brought my car in to NE AUTO CLINIC asking the owner, Neil, for an estimate on to fix a transmission problem I was having. Couple days later he pretty much told me he wasn't sure what the problem was and that we should start by changing the transmission fluid and some sort of shield; however, he wasn't confident it was going to fix the issue. Logically, I said no thank you I rather not play this guessing game because I don't have a never ending budget. At this point not only was Neil very rude, he also tried ripping me off by charging 60$ for providing me with this rudimentary estimate which likely wasn't going to fix my problem. No where on his wall or price list does it mention that his estimates aren't free. We ended upsettling on me paying him half of what he was trying to scam me for. Probably the worst mechanic shop experience I had in the last ten years.
